Indian state accused of extrajudicial killings and aiding resource plunder, under pretense of anti-Maoist crackdown
The statement also urged the prime minister to stop the militarization of the region and respect the rights enshrined in the Fifth Schedule of the Indian constitution for the Adivasis (Indigenous peoples of India). The statement alleges that the rights of the Adivasis “are being systematically violated and forests and minerals of Chhattisgarh are being subjected to indiscriminate corporate exploitation with disastrous implications for environmental stability and livelihood of the local people.” Various other organizations and individuals have issued similar statements demanding the immediate cessation of all hostilities against the Indigenous peoples of the region, along with its demilitarization.

In Armenia, rising ceasefire violations bring fears of war with Azerbaijan
Armenia's southernmost province of Syunik is at the heart of the dispute and is where most ceasefire violations are reported. Syunik separates the main body of Azerbaijan to the east from the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan to the west. It also provides a vital trade route for Armenia to Iran, which it borders to the south. Azerbaijan has since 2020 demanded Armenia provide it with a corridor through Syunik to Nakhchivan. Baku has said that the passage would remain Armenian territory but have minimal controls from the capital Yerevan.

Tensions had been running high for days, with Shas and United Torah Judaism (UTJ) threatening to back the move to topple the government and trigger early elections. Bolivia anti-government protests turn deadly as tensions rise
"There are already four officers who have lost their lives," Justice Minister Cesar Siles told reporters in La Paz, adding that some had been shot. Trump moves to merge wildland firefighting into single force, despite ex-officials warning of chaos
The order aims to centralize firefighting efforts now split among five agencies and two Cabinet departments. Trump’s proposed budget for next year calls for the creation of a new Federal Wildland Fire Service under the U.S. Interior Department. That would mean shifting thousands of personnel from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service — where most federal firefighters now work — with fire season already underway. The administration has not disclosed how much the change could cost or save.

Democratic US Senator Padilla forced to ground, handcuffed by federal agents
The Department of Homeland Security in a statement on X accused Padilla of engaging in "disrespectful political theater". "@SecretService thought he was an attacker and officers acted appropriately," the department said, adding that Noem later met with Padilla. Padilla said in a statement he was released shortly after. "If this is how the Department of Homeland Security responds to a senator with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing to farmers, to cooks, to day-laborers throughout the Los Angeles community and throughout California and throughout the country," Padilla said.

Money is not enough
EIGHT long and painful years since the Grenfell Tower Fire, here we are once again reflecting on what has and has not been achieved that would prevent Grenfell 2. For many of us, this is just sickening. We have a new government, “Labour” in name at least. There have, of course, been changes made. But changes do not always mean progress. So yes, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, “the Grenfell Council,” has written some heartfelt and finely calibrated statements, press releases, held public meetings, consultations and published policies. But genuine change? Ask anyone in North Ken — No. After tens of millions of pounds spent, people are still suffering without the support they need; they still don’t get it. Ask residents of Lancaster West, the estate of which the Tower is a part, how their refurb is going. Ask residents of the year-old Kelso Cochrane House, council built on council land — just read the PRs! But it leaks. The leccie is dodgy. There is damp, mould and the lifts break down. So this “award-winning exciting new build” is actually potentially dangerous. This really doesn’t bode well for the extraordinarily “generous” spending review announcements of Wednesday June 11. If the council so desperate to be seen to have improved, with the world watching, a council under investigation for corporate manslaughter — if they can’t get it right, what hope for this juggernaut of spending on affordable and social housing announced this week?

CP of Greece, To Communist and Workers’ Parties. Subject: Response to the slanderous attack of the “Appeal”
On 11 June 2025, SolidNet received an “Appeal” from Parties attempting yet another slanderous attack, initiated by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) and the Russian Communist Workers’ Party (RCWP), regarding an article by the International Relations Section of the CC of the KKE entitled “On the International Anti-Fascist Forum in Moscow”. This article was published in the daily newspaper “Rizospastis”, the organ of the CC of the KKE, and was subsequently translated and published on the KKE’s international websites, as well as on the SolidNet website (http://www.solidnet.org/article/CP-of-Greece-On-the-International-Anti-Fascist-Forum-in-Moscow/ ). The “Appeal” that was published on SolidNet repeats the mud-slinging by the CPRF and the RCWP, which claim that the KKE actually accuses “the organizers and participants of the Second International Anti-Fascist Forum of ‘…siding with the imperialist goals of the Russian bourgeoisie”. This is an unsubstantiated accusation, as we will explain below: the KKE has never identified the participants of this Forum with its organizers. This is because we are well aware that a number of parties may have responded to the CPRF’s invitation in order to gain a better understanding of its positions and those of other parties, to express their opinion on developments or for other reasons. Moreover, this particular section of the article of the KKE refers to the address of the President of Russia, V. Putin, to the Forum, which, according to our assessment, shows that the organizers of this particular Forum are fully aligned with the bourgeois power in Russia and its imperialist objectives, which are covered behind a lot of anti-fascist veneer.
