using "solidarity" to mean "left unity" is one of the worst rhetorical tricks leftists play. the bourgeoisie don't have "right wing unity", otherwise there'd be no proletarians who hold reactionary views because they'd have "unity" and not exploit those ones. what they have is CLASS unity. and most leftists are NOT proletarians. solidarity means unite the proletariat, not some nebulous "left"!

they own capital?

The elephant in the room is the social conservatism that has been empirically seen among lower-working class people in juxtaposition to wealthier liberal communities. At it's foundation, they care more about the wellbeing of their people, their traditions, their families, their kinship, and what they believe to be their 'culture' before the moralist individualism commonly exhibited by western leftists broadly that reject these views. They can be rejected and discarded off as "spooks" but the sentiment is still there. Collectivization was intended to adhere to these ends, by ensuring brotherhood and a sense of community among fellow workers and for them to not be alienated; and to that capacity was achieved in China and even secular nations such as the Soviet Union (see, "brotherhood of nations"). We need to communicate how, economically and politically, our form of labor organization benefits them and the convictions of actual workers at large.
