Quite literally yes. The vast majority of soldiers are put out of service or die to accidents or mental fatigue and have been since war has started. Most soldiers have no idea how to relax themselves in combat settings and the concept of introducing stress inoculation as a part of training has only been around for elite military units since the us imvasion of Vietnam. Otherwise, most people are stuck with soldiers that couldn’t survive in as little as a fist fight and who literally shit themselves in response to artillery blasts and gunfire (WW1 and WW2 were notorious for pantshitting soldiers)
