The "famines" argument against socialism is ridiculous and can be debunked by thinking critically for a single minute.
Every major famine in a socialist country was the last of its kind. Yes there were absolutely preventable famines (e.g the 4 Pests Campaign), but they were generally the last famines to occur in those countries.
Capitalism causes ongoing famines in the 3rd world. Because of the tendency of the rate of profit to fall, capitalists need to offset this by increasing the rate of exploitation by lowering wages, done by moving the industrial heartland of the world from the west to Asia and Africa, paying people next to nothing. There are also easily preventable incidents here, mistakes are not exclusive to socialism because there's "no checks and balances", as seen with the Nestle anti-breast feeding campaign. "But they apologized and tried to fix it" so did China.
The millions who died "from socialism" are nothing compared to the casualties of capitalism. Of course there are casualties under socialism, it's the transitory mode of production between capitalism and communism. It still has to interact with the value-form because the revolution isn't global yet.
You will literally never hear an ancap/libertarian type even mention the 3rd world and you will never hear a liberal mention the third world outside of meaningless nothingburger moralism.
>>2357166It's not an argument, you're wasting time with defamation. They know they're exaggerating, they have other motifs to use it as a smear to stigmatize socialism through this, just throwing it in.
You don't understand because you don't think like them on your position. It's part of the info war.
