The reason why individualism and capitalism do not work you can’t make yourself rich. You’re born usually rich to a rich family or vice versa. You’re born in a poor family then you’re poor. Some people say can pull yourself up see your boot straps, but that’s a myth sometimes the poor need help that’s why I’m a communist because I believe in workers rights and helping the poor my motto is eat the rich workers of the world unite and fuck Ron, Paul

As someone who’s parents grew up broke and who personally grew up upper middle class I think your gravely underestimating social mobility. The bad news is that the economy is a tad rigged. The good news is it is a tad rigged. Instead of complaining for example that housing prices are bad: please realise that all you have to do to get rich is to take out a loan in a rich area for the cheapest thing you can get there, wait 20 years and sell it and BOOM your in the upper middle class. To make sure you can afford this loan
> fake a posh accent
> study brands and buy decent fakes
> network with born into it people at their hobby spots
> exaggerate the living daylights out of your job experience and fake experience if you have to.
Most jobs aren’t actually that hard and practically everything that’s not a brain surgeon can be learnt on the job. Just lie until you get training and fake it till you make it and you’re golden. Also if people discriminate against you because of your name literally just legally change it and keep your ethnic name in private, that’s what I’ve done.

>>2387058
I’ll also sprinkle in this advice. When I was young people told me English is the most useless subject, only maths matters. This is objectively wrong, if you can’t learn to manipulate people or at least network with them good luck even getting a technical job unless someone else competent vouches for you.

It’s still good to have technical skills of course so you won’t be bored and have to spend less time doing work place drama etc. but I will be blunt. Reading Marxist doctrine etc until you get your finances sorted is kinda like everything else beautiful, music art etc in that it’s useless at improving your life immediately. It’s something that soaks in over time. If you want to improve your life immediately literally pick up a sportsball or pretend to care about sportsball. Then dress as basic as you can and get an accounting degree. That’s the sure fire ticket to having an easy life.

>>2396536
And why is this the surefire ticket to having an easy life? Because it’s relatable. If you want to get paid big bucks it’s more about if your bearable to sit next to and don’t challenge the bosses delusional sense of self worth. Ask yourself what do the preppy rich people in your city like? How can you pretend to care about it for however long you have to be in the cubicle for a day. In your spare time you have all the freedom in the world to be whatever else you want. Just keep it on the down low at work, be boring and don’t try too hard.

On a finishing note to all of you reading, do not discount the power of antinomian actions. If you conform just for a while, just long enough to stack your bread or infiltrate a conservative western imperialist space or company. You outing yourself as trans, or closet Muslim, environmentalist or whatever they don’t like forces them to reconcile with the fact the person they’ve been making all this money with/campaigning with this whole time does not conform to their strict narrative. If your trans and been given shit for it so much so that you won’t transition publically, doing it the moment you hit a major career milestone does a great deal to normalise it and hopefully by this point you know a smaller firm, other gig or have enough cash stashed away that it won’t affect you.

To the right wing mind enough of us doing something like this seems like an orchestrated conspiracy, which just makes them look even dumber and confirms our actions are working.

Capitalism requires capitalists as a class to exist parasitically off the labor of workers as a class. You as an individual moving or not moving into the capitalist class is irrelevant, the relationship being classes stays the same.

I’m not debating that but if you want your life to be bearable you can move classes and still advocate for change. The fine line is to not get lost in the sauce and make the pursuit of capital your entire life’s goal and realise that it’s fundamentally predatory while contributing to people trying to make an alternative. Sitting around moping that it’s unfair however is entirely ineffective. Be brutally honest with yourself that the system is unfair sure, but also realise that like all rigged games it has patterns and loopholes you can and should abuse. Do not remain a victim. Good and bad doesn’t play into it as much as true or false does.

Eg It’s bad to lie on a resume sure, but HRs current level of demands is also objectively bad and stopping a whole generation of people from getting entry level jobs. Morally bad doesn’t factor into it the truth is if you don’t want to starve unless you luck in your gonna lie.

As someone that’s been unemployed for the last 6 months what the hell are any of you talking about. Wtf is this hitman shit supposed to amount to dawg, it seems to me that the most monumentally hardest part of the whole process is the first step, which is locked behind networks and certifications.
I might almost describe it as some sortve gate that’s being kept, like you have to be a member of some kind of class to not be kept from this gate.

>>2396674
Unemployment is part of the design of the system. In the 60's keynesians tried full employment but this increased inflation and here we qre with "natural unemployment ratea".

Yeayeayea ofc obviously, reserve army of labor is probably the easiest Marxist concept for a proletariat to understand, but y'all still aren’t making any sense. You can’t just get certified in some shit and get a job with that, the certification part doesn't make any sense for bills and time, and then the get a job part is still prohibitively difficult if you don’t have a network.
I’m not even really trying to argue that its impossible to go from working poor to lower middle class, I would desperately love more than anything to be wrong, but I’m seriously not seeing anyone say anything that makes sense.
Where he hell do I go
What the hell do I do

Remote work as a software engineer right? I’ll just go to a cocktail bar and be wearing the same glasses as someone else and they’ll me a job right?

At this point in time, class mobility is common, but not in a good way, downward mobility is more common than upward mobility, I have met way more people who grew up as "upper middle class" who are now working class then people who grew up working class and now are not.

Unironically depends on where you are. If you live in a country where trades pay well and can be stuffed waking up at 5, that’s absolutely the go just you very well will get scammed as an apprentice.

Regarding white collar work the HR requirements are absolutely ridiculous I agree. Reserve labor force absolutely no doubt, I’ve seen cafes that would take literally 2 shifts max to teach someone all the basics require 4 years experience to start. A close migrant friend of mine was trained as a chef in his home country and couldn’t get a job until he put down a now defunct restaurant that he worked at for 2 weeks as 7 years experience. Hospitality and retail even office jobs now have that awful underemployment work on zero notice vibe to em.

That being said social mobility is just lying, for your first job that doesn’t matter find a dead company with no contact line in your industry, say you worked there for two years. Then cram study before the interview and just fake it till you make it, their requirements are absurd so make your lies believably absurd.

Every time you do anything even slightly of note tell your boss about it especially if you work in person, so that when promotion time comes they remember someone saying you great never mind that the someone was you. If you have zero contacts go to a networking event on one of the meetup apps in your city for your industry, have pizza with someone and act bearable enough to send your resume across to them and they’ll most likely hire you as simply a face they already know. I know in programming everyone I know rock climbs so if you want a gig try that. Ironically if your in a job that takes actual set qualifications like being a stem researcher I’d say your a tad screwed because the HR requirements are not only insane but things that can be easily verified like stupid high GPA years of experience etc. Any office job that’s not likely to accidentally result in someone dying or environmental damage if you stuff it up however it is not only necessary to lie because everyone’s lying but totally acceptable to. What’s the worst that’s going to happen? They don’t hire you? lol they already don’t just keep lying till your in. The system absolutely needs reform tho, like honestly running a cafe isn’t that bad if you own it. If your running the business and renting the margins are so fried and the pressure to deliver every week will leave you broke. Small businesses are getting literally shut down and business being entirely unavailable just because McGoober Landlord can’t stand to not increase rent every month. When all the services that are actually useful like a tangible sandwhich or service you can buy are getting too red tape and expensive to run and everyone’s increasingly moving to made up office jobs it’s going to have a societal ripple. Not your responsibility tho so push paper and pass the buck till it crashes and we get socialism.
