If Japan never went to war with America its likely that the USSR never would have invaded Manchuria in the first place. They had a non-aggression Pact with Japan and only went to war with them to fulfill the promises they made to the Western Allies. Even if they did, Japan wouldn't have surrendered just because they were driven out of Northeast Asia. With the IJN intact the Soviets wouldn't he able to do anything to them once they won on land so they would probably just negotiate a peace.

Teddy Roosevelt turned the clock back on monopoly by trust busting, effectively preventing total monopolization of capital, which leads to state capitalism, which sets the stage for socialist revolution in an advanced country (according to Lenin).

Franklin Roosevelt saved the ruling class from provoking revolution by doing the New Deal and giving enough concessions to shut workers up for a few more decades.

So socdem stuff inevitably forces the empire into increasing exploitation (or outsourcing which just socializes production further). Socdem stuff just causes the rate of profit to fall further (which is why it is unpopular with imperialists) which in turn leads to a new crisis of overproduction later on.
