Except that we now know by Yakovlev's own admission that he used "critiquing dogmatism" as a cover for attacking socialism as a whole. In other words we know for a fact that it was written with anti-communist intent.

That's bullshit! This note goes way over the line in its content, than just merely "critiquing dogmatism".

There is much that can be said in the USSR's ideological stagnation, but what Yakovlev does is critique from the standpoint of a liquidation viewpoint.

It's funny to think about the "forced" confessions of those "old bolsheviks" who were openly wondering where did they go wrong that they ended up getting shot as traitors. It mostly turned out to be baseless pride, "friends" on the other side and unwillingness to concede defeat in debates, if I were to rephrase it.
