>>2449719UFO enthusiasts and later authors describe rotating mercury plasma as creating “torsion” or “spin” fields, said to distort spacetime.
Torsion in physics exists mathematically in some alternative theories of gravity.
It works via intense electromagnetic fields by pinning conductive plasma in EM coils to produce localized high magnetic and electric fields, gyroscopic stabilization & unusual motion by counter-rotating plasma cylinders to act as massive gyroscopes; altering rotation changes craft orientation, plasma discharge & glow Ionized mercury + thorium which emits UV, X-ray, visible light, and sparks — very “otherworldly.” Another side effect from this is local radiation hazards. Thorium + mercury isotopes emit alpha, beta, gamma radiation; lethal to nearby humans. Plus magnetic interference / electronics disruption as strong EM fields could knock out compasses, radios, or instruments. And then reactive thrust if plasma jets were ejected or EM field asymmetry existed, the craft could get small directional thrust.
Einstein’s Special Relativity (1905) states:
1. Mass-energy equivalence.
2. Invariance of rest mass: The rest mass of an object cannot spontaneously change.
3. Speed limit: No object with nonzero rest mass can reach or exceed the speed of light.
Problem with “time travel” ships:
If a ship moves backward or forward in time (macroscopically) while carrying mass you would have to move mass faster than light in some reference frame. This violates the relativistic speed limit, and requires infinite energy to accelerate mass to. If the ship somehow “disappears” from one time and reappears in another then mass-energy is no longer conserved locally. Relativity forbids spontaneous mass teleportation through time. So, any literal time-traveling mass violates special relativity.
Then you have causality. Effects cannot precede their causes in any inertial reference frame. If a craft travels backward in time then you could, in principle, interact with past events, creating paradoxes (grandfather paradox, predestination loops). This breaks causality, a cornerstone of all modern physics. Even tachyonic (faster-than-light) particles, hypothetical in some theories, violate causality in some frames — so a ship with mass is much worse than a particle.
GR allows closed timelike curves (CTCs) mathematically, but only in extreme spacetime geometries (e.g., near rotating black holes, Kerr solutions, or exotic “negative energy” matter).
To stabilize a CTC or wormhole, you need negative energy densities (exotic matter). Mercury plasma or “red mercury” should not be able to create sustained negative energy.
So even if EM fields and spinning plasma are extreme, the ship is far from the energy/mass requirements for spacetime warping under classical relativity.
If the ship teleports in time or moves instantaneously then energy is not locally conserved, the sudden displacement of mass-energy would produce enormous gravitational and electromagnetic disturbances. This has never been observed in any plasma or EM experiment.
This would prove not only Einstein wrong, but Verlinde also (who they're propping-up as "the new Einstein") and would support hypothetical Exotic Matter / Negative Energy models.
Idea: If you had negative-energy fields (Casimir-like or quantum vacuum manipulation), you could counteract local gravitational pull, create warp-like effects (Alcubierre metric), but it requires macroscopic negative energy densities, exotic matter far beyond regular Mercury plasma, and is currently completely hypothetical.
This is where UFO / Vimana enthusiasts sometimes claim spinning mercury plasma could tap “vacuum energy,” but there’s no theoretical basis for this.
Spinning mercury plasma + EM fields creates extremely strong local fields
Counter-rotating cylinders produce enormous angular momentum and torsion-like effects
Radioactive dopants provide high-energy particles that interact with EM fields, potentially amplifying spacetime anomalies in this model
In a hypothetical model, these factors could combine to:
1. Reduce effective gravitational mass locally (apparent levitation)
2. Allow sudden directional changes without conventional acceleration (gyroscopic + EM coupling)
3. Disturb local EM and instrumentation (observed sparks, interference)
4. Produce visual plasma phenomena and lethal radiation (observed effects)
Hypothetical extended physics: Plausible explanation requires torsion gravity, exotic matter, or EM-spacetime coupling, with the spinning mercury plasma acting as a catalyst. However, what adds fire to this claim is that exotic matter and how it interacts with fields is not well-understood already.
