Cherizier seems to be leading a genuinely anti-colonial movement. Whether that movement will survive or succumb to its own internal contradictions remains to be seen. I am naively optimistic (after all, why not), but the reality is no real journalism is reaching me. I am still hearing about how "barbecue" is a cannibal.

My realistic prediction is that Haiti becomes another bottomless pit project into which endless dollars and gallons of Kenyan blood are poured. Another unresolvable contradiction.

I am naively optimistic as well, I captured media and Haiti Liberte is where I get all my news on the subject. It’s been hard finding good journalism on the subject. I think the FRG9’s success does show that the vanguard movement is dead and that anarkiddies are right about leaderless resistance. We need to embrace the communalist model the panthers adopted and start allying ourselves with desperate local orgs.

The situation has massively improved since last year. Thanks to the African union, some volunteer cops from the rest of the Caribbean (mainly Jamaica since the Dominican Republic has been almost entirely useless for anything related to peace development and fighting) and especially Kenyan forces, much of the capital has been reclaimed and there’s genuine progress and plans for further stability to be reinforced as more domestic police officers receive formal training while rumours over the Haitian military coming back post disbandment are surfacing. Good news to see in a while. I wouldn’t be too concerned about Haiti these days as there are only signs for the first time in ages that things are improving over there.
