If you were elected president and had to obey the constitution and not do a coup what would you do?
This thread is made to answer this question.
If you don’t live in America it can be your countries President or Prime Minister or whatever the fuck you guys call it.
But you can’t say declare martial law, stage a military coup, or any other unrealistic stuff, you will have to go full Claudia Sheinbaum and run the capitalist country as a Socialist or Communist or whatever the fuck.
My answer is this:
I would try to grow Marxism in the country and on the global stage as much as possible. I must increase the cracks in the capitalist system until it can be shattered. I will expand the welfare state, increase taxes on the rich, decrease military spending, increase public transportation funding, sanction Israel, end the trade embargo’s on Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea and Iran, establish closer relations with them and distance the country away from the EU. I would also Nationalize healthcare, the extraction industry, and most grocery stores. I will ban assault weapons, charter schools, and lobbying. I will also no longer recognize Israel and I would pull troops out of Taiwan and South Korea. I would get Ukraine to surrender Crimea and Donetsk and other territories in exchange for peace with Russia just like what is currently seemingly happening although I won’t steal Ukraines minerals. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg, I just hope congress will let me do this but seeing as how they are doing with Trump I could probably fucking nationalize the economy and deport all former CEO’s the a Gulag in El Salvador.
>>2462929you can still do a mass shooting without assault rifles and even without a gun. Technically if you used something quiet like a crossbow in a place with a lot of hallways you could get a lot of people one by one before getting caught.
or even a sword or knife.
>>24628821. Help establish official peace talks between the DPRK and South Korea, officially ending the Korean War and encouraging Korean unification
2. Lift embargoes off of Cuba, the DPRK and other socialist aligned countries
3. Officially recognise the DAANES as the legitimate government of Syria
4. Cut off diplomatic, economic, academic and political ties with Israel
5. Push for an enforcement wing of the ICC
6. Universal health care for all- but also includes but isn’t limited to covering, HRT, and mental health diagnoses
7. Abolish the electoral college
8. Officially End the war on drugs by legalising weed, shrooms and other recreational drugs
9. Legalise sex work in all states
10. Full pardon for people arrested for drug possession/ consumption
11. Federal legislation of abortion
12. Introduction of preferential voting
13. Nationalisation of oil and agriculture companies
That’s at least what I feel I could POSSIBLY implement
>>2462914I'm glad you like it
>>2462920that's not the reason for doing it. the reason for doing it is shits and giggles and chaos
>>2462882>had to obey the constitutionwell the thing is not following the constitution is very realistic. all presidents in the last 30 ish years have basically wiped their asses with the constitution. i guess i'd do
>>2462979 but the thing is it'd only be a bandage on the global problem that is the USA. in order to really fix it you'd need a strict ideologically driven party to seize power through a bureaucratic coup or some other illegal means. then fundamental reforms such as the writing of a completely new constitution that outright represses the power of capital, abolition of existing government institutions and their replacement with more democratic and efficient ones. USA society is not yet ready for that. they'd overwhelmingly fight against it. so really the best you could do is accelerate the transformation of the socio-economic conditions while covertly backing such a vanguard party. imo
>>2462996President on deck. Attention!
When we are dying from a combination of hypothermia and hunger in the ashes of the former empire, I will say I shitposted with the man himself.

>>2462992My presidency will try to reveal as little as possible. Paradoxically, however, this fact will precisely be my most authentic revelation. As I address the nation from concealment, I become nothingness, the source of the nullity embodied in public space. In human beings, the abyss lurks as a choice, but to choose nothing (what Sartre called "bad faith") is to choose the unreality at the heart of oneself, to annihilate oneself or tumble into perfect falsehood, or rather the perfect negation of truth, as the essence of oneself.
We tumbled into this infinite pit long ago during our campaign, and now call upon all of us to do likewise, to annihilate ourselves entirely, to take up and become sheer empty space and time. Nothingness now beckons us from our televisions to vote for it, to endorse it, to choose it to represent us. That is, it urges and cajoles us to become sheer void.
It would not be inaccurate to think of my candicacy for president of the United States as nihilistic in the Nietzschean sense, as someone who by withdrawing in fear from reality seeks an annihilation of all that is into the nothingness I that have chosen. Augustine famously proposed that evil is the absence of good. In beckoning us toward nothingness, my campaign calls us to evil. But my campaign calls us not only to the absence of everything but also to the absence of nothing, and thus to the absence even of evil itself. Hence my campaign – and my presidency – will be no more evil than it is good, which is perhaps what people sense when it occurs to them that I mean no harm.
But my campaign, in being the very principle of emptiness itself, cannot be evil, for it is also what annihilates even nothingness, what annihilates good but also the absence of good. It is the infinite series of annihilations by which the universe devours itself, devours its own devouring of itself, and then devours even that. To vote me is to vote for the devourer of dimensions, the devourer even of time and of the possibility of time. A vote for me is a vote for the complete annihilation of all possible worlds.
There is more at stake in this election. To join this campaign is to endorse and to become the negation or abnegation of all truth and all reality. It's to take up a position as the destroyer not only of oneself, and not only of American political discourse, but of the entire fabric of the universe. As you enter the polling booth you face the question of whether you yourself will cease to exist.
>>2462882Pack the supreme court,
Use the surveillance state to spy on the bourgeoisie, and their pawns
put in place preventative measures against the national security apparatus
WW2 style mobilization to centralize the economy, and actually treat the climate emergency seriously [What the fuck are we all doing not doing this?]
Nationalize the media
Nationalize entire sectors of the economy
Nationalize, and destroy private education
Create a national health care system fully state owned, and funded
Create a commission for indirective, and directive planning
Create a commission democratize the country, using mainly Aristotelian definitions

I'd nationalize key sectors where the capilist mode of production doesn't suit the consumer (by virtue of being essential, the consumer can't retract himself and force the capitalist to lower prices) and the broader strategic interests of the nation. This concerns primariliy roads, housing, energy etc. This isn't really far-fetched albeit completely absent of the local politics. Our energy is already half-owned by the state, so is our healthcare system. Similarly, we have a long tradition of detaining our roads and strategic sectors. The new initiative would mainly concern housing, where I'd opt for a similar system to Singapore where the state owns the houses and distributes it.
In a second time, I'd make the state buy many shares insides of corporations to have a real say in the capitalist mode of production and to potentially redistribute the profits to the workers. Furthermore, I would expand the prerogatives of the state and create businesses owned by the people through the state. The ambition would be to create a parallel economy ran by the state. Private enterprises and businesses could still exist, but the people would have a choice in most sectors to work for themselves through state-owned enterprises.
