Seeing an image years ago would have had me confirm an idea that masculinity was toxic and expects too much from men. Now, I’m actually viewing anyone that fell into this as legitimately pathetic.

Let me make an idea clear. The vast majority of practices associated with masculinity are all centered around posturing. Meeting any of the qualities associated with masculinity internationally requires *a fuck ton* of individual effort and commitment that I guarantee that most men will never put in. The vast majority of men are as bad as men when it comes to fighting (I’ve seen too many fights with people throwing velociraptor hands and throwing the same wild hooks since they don’t know any other moves) and rely on having more (not refined) muscles to overpower men which makes the difference in actual strength between sexes negligible if not reliant on the acceleration of osteoporosis on post menopausal women.
That shit about courage? Couldn’t be a bigger joke. Just read any military history book or even modern books on conditioning among soldiers. Men running away from their opponents and only engaging if their enemy’s morale was already nonexistent instead of taking any risks on their end. Don’t even get me started on the titanic hero garbage about natural disasters as (expected too) nearly all men normally prioritize their own lives in instances of mass disasters *often* over the survival of their own families too.
Physical and mental toughness? Just look at obesity rates, suicide rates, and rates of non communicable diseases among men and the stats speak for themselves.

I don’t know how to feel about all this. A little disappointing knowing just how *weak* most men are compared to such a basic ideal.
