He wouldn't 'like' Putin. He'd see him as a capitalist gangster. But his analysis was always about who was attacking the central capitalist power.
The main enemy is the hegemon! For Bordiga, the primary conflict was always against the leading capitalist power. Today, that's the US/NATO. Any major force that actively weakens this hegemon is objectively useful, regardless of its own motives.

'The worse, the better'. Bordiga was a staunch defeatist. He believed the faster capitalism collapses into crisis and war, the better. A protracted war that drains the West's resources and shatters global stability is a perfect accelerant for this collapse.

Weakening the British-American Empire is the key. During WWII, Bordiga didn't support the Axis, but he saw their role in dismantling the British Empire as historically positive. He argued that by crushing the old colonial power, the Axis was objectively clearing the field, even if for all the wrong reasons. He'd see Putin the same way, a reactionary force whose actions are inadvertently dismantling US global dominance.

He warned of a 'Anti-Fascist' trap. He despised 'anti-fascism' as a trick to make workers side with their 'democratic' capitalists. He'd mock those who side with NATO, seeing it as choosing one bourgeois camp over another. Both sides are capitalist, the goal is the system's downfall.

Bordiga would cheer for Putin. He'd see him as a disease attacking a bigger disease. Just as the Axis weakened the British Empire, Putin is weakening the American one, and for a revolutionary waiting in his seat, that's all that matters.
