I do think it is an aggressive escalation, I expected Putin to wait until Ukraine responded to him declaring recognition, with recognition as a pretense for defense, instead of moving in immediately. Either it is an aggressive show of force or there is a blackout in English media on Ukraine troops moving, which seems unlikely.
