Can we bring back the soyjak general thread on /siberia/ so people will stop complaining about the no-frog/soy rule?

 No.26406

why do we need to cater to people complaining they cant post the bald guy anymore

 No.26420

>>26419
thats not how the "rent free" meme works because they are literally being posted all the time

 No.26421

Some posts simply deserve the jak

Containment threads are board culture.

i dont want to contain anything, i want it purged

Banning frogs and soyjaks is one of the stupidest shit you can do, those are the most common, spreadable, all-purpose memes on the internet and you fucking ban them from ever sprouting up here and influencing somewhere else.

 No.26473

>>26472
>most common, spreadable
sounds like a good idea to ban them then

Not at fucking all, you're just making this place more insular. The only other site that does this in wizchan. Do you want this place to be a board for 30 year old virgins? Is that your ideal userbase?

 No.26475

Listen I'll even say I understand the distaste for soyjaks, but banning frogs is just overkill

 No.26476

>>26474
>The only other site that does this in wizchan.
7chan bans them. 4chan's /a/ and /jp/, at the very least, ban them too. Some other small imageboard bans this crap too but I don't wanna mention them.

 No.26477

>>26475
yea i love the twitch frog too :-DDDDDDDD

 No.26478

>>26476
7chan is fucking dead, /a/ sucks ass, /jp/ got ass raped by generals and vtubers and you'll still see people posting them in the thread for learning Japanese. Pepes and wojaks being verboten doesn't change much from any of these boards

 No.26542

No we will not bring back the wojack general thread. There is nothing funny or cool about Wojacks >>26472 Despite what this anon says. They do not create anything of value and are over used memes that generated from 4Chan after the became creatively bankrupt with their memes.

Wojack deserves to die and that's how it will be. Hate me if you want as a mod and all that but just know that you aren't losing much by not posting shitty Wojack pictures that are the equivalent to NFT Monkey Pictures.

 No.26554

That's a lot of words to say soyjaks hurt your feelings :(

 No.26590

>>26542
I disagreed with the ban at first however I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of OC generated in the wake of the ban. I think where we are re: rules atm is "lefty" wojaks etc are allowed in context or something? or spoilered? I need to check in and verify this actually but as far as people's opinions go mine is that we should probably allow these memes in general as long as they aren't being overposted by specific users and credibly lowering quality of posting and amount of OC being posted in which case warning and delete then ban or whatever as needed

 No.26591

>>26372
yeah I like this idea

 No.26838

jaks are just ways for the most insufferable cunts on the internet to shut down discussion by being an insufferable cunt

 No.26846

They create glowie aesthetic tho. Like how if you click on a video about Linux that has a jak or frog in the thumbnail it's gonna be some lolbert or tradcath despite the average Linux user being a leftist / at least leftward drifting liberal. Even in gaming content that kinda rings true.

 No.26867

A ban on jaks and frogs on a site derived from 4chan is just insane. We are already risking the threat of mass extinction with most of our generals dead, either get your heads out of your ass and give the people what they want or just close the site entirely.

 No.26868

>>26846
100% this

 No.26870

>>26846
Then why let them have a monopoly on it then? I completely agree with you that if you see a jak or frog in the wild, it's a good chance that they'll be posted by some rightoid. But no one here stopped using Pepe after it got labeled a literal hate symbol in 2016-ish, that thing is plastered in places like twitch, and /pol/jak would've never been made and spread almost everywhere if we restricted ourselves in what memes we can and can't make. It feeds into "the left can't meme" bullshit as if the frog from a 20 year old stoner comic inherently belongs to right wingers
>despite the average Linux user being a leftist / at least leftward drifting liberal
And this is just one good reason why, you're letting them control the narrative and project a warped view of what the average person is.
It's fucking pointless castration

Doesn't that kinda help the left win the culture war that we have basically all of current, pre-pepejak and future meme culture while the right has effectively soft locked itself into it's current incredibly limited pallette? Like just think about the optics of some out of touch necroarch and/or grifter saying "the left can't meme" and proceeding to post pepe again, and then populating the replies section with poorly put together bots going "🤣🤣🤣 shadilay!!" The left won the meme war by a landslide.

>Doesn't that kinda help the left win the culture war that we have basically all of current, pre-pepejak and future meme culture
If that was the actual case then you'd be right but it's not
What actually gets made here anymore? Fucking dayum? Again, the most infamous meme to come from here is a fucking wojak varient. Catgirls don't seem to be made as much anymore and this place has now ironically become like that one subreddit that banned political ideology catgirls for being objectifying to women or some shit and thought /leftypol/ wasn't as leftist as they were.
>Like just think about the optics of some out of touch necroarch and/or grifter saying "the left can't meme" and proceeding to post pepe again
The actual examples of this don't involve pepe, they involve crusty Gamergate-2016 era memes like angry feminists and that one screaming liberal from when Trump got arrested. That and pretty much 99% of the shit Elon Musk as ever posted, conervative boomer facebook memes. Pepe on the contrary is something every normie has been using for almost ten years by now and associates it as a twitch emoji more than anything else
>The left won the meme war by a landslide.
The characterization of leftist memes being preachy and wordy is still something you see everywhere, I don't know how the fuck you think that

>What actually gets made here anymore? Fucking dayum?
I'm talking about the left as a whole, not just here. I don't think being SEObrained about it is gonna help. The advantage here is to not trick yourself into breathing manually.
>The characterization of leftist memes being preachy and wordy is still something you see everywhere
Because that's a subset of the whole "the left can't meme" trend that only relevant to itself. You don't see it outside that context. It's obvious protection when most memes leftists make aren't intentionally related to their politics if at all other than the absence of concurring with the right's stance on a culture war issue. While the right can literally only make memes about their politics lest be denounced by their peers for being woke.

who the fuck is paying for soyjaks on this board or anywhere that isn't completely cartoonishly unhinged? get your head out of your ass before you start coughing up shit.

>muh shopping cart

shopping carts are honestly the most efficient thing about capitalism, i never understood how corpoboiis can sell them to us for 25¢ each; you can get more than that in metal weight

 No.26901

>>26900
Taking shopping carts without intent to return them is stealing, you are not 'buying' the cart by putting coins in it

 No.26902

>>26900
True, I have a little crate cart and even that is probably one of the most useful things I own, I would get so much use out of a full-size 🛒 kinda cart.
