Back in the 90s and Bush years rappers loved conspiracy theories, the Nation of Islam, liberally using "faggot" and "uygha", indulged in virulent misogyny, etc. Even in the early Obama years Killer Mike was rapping:

"Step and fetch funky ass, flunky ass uyghas
Dick in the booty for your Massa' ass uyghas
I don't fear no man
Not Bush not Clinton not Osama"

During the Bush years Immortal Technique had lyrics like this:

"But you know what the fuck I think is just pathetic and gay?
When uyghas speculate what the fuck 'Pac would say
You don't know shit about a dead man's perspective
And talkin' shit'll get your neck bone disconnected
Disrespected
uyghas don't show no love
Why you tryna be hardcore, you fuckin' homo thug?"

He also praised revolutionary suicide bombers in Point of No Return. But in his 2022 Civil War single, he censored himself saying uygha in his parts of the song, but its uncensored in Killer Mike's portion.

Eminem won't even use faggot anymore.

And then we have this pathetic pro-choice rap by Digable Planets. I'm as pro-abortion as it gets, but listening to this makes me want to [redact] an abortion clinic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DfMksmOIME

The pro-choice song you posted is from 1993. Rap has been woke since it began.

There is literally nothing wrong with wokeness.

theyre still kinda homophobic
in the kendrick-drake beef, drake was getting made fun of for being "metrosexual" like it's still the year 2000, before they finally got around to the pedo allegations
if the beef was 10-20 years earlier, "faggot" would have definitely been dropped a bunch of times
zoomer and gen alpha rappers could be better, idk

>zoomer and gen alpha rappers could be better, idk
Lol no. I mean it depends who we're talking about. Gay is never going to be cool or acceptable to street thugs. That's the dumbest shit too when people act like the guy who sings about the dozens of uyghas he's murdered doesn't like gay people either, like with the DaBaby controversy.

Most of the ones signed to a label keep their mouth shut about it because they don't want to get DaBabied.

So are we doing a homophobic rap greatest hits?

>Hello, I'm callin' to say since Ice Cube was suckin' so much New York dick

>Can he come and eat some of this Chicago pussy?
>(I smell pussy)
>Yeah, uygha when we see yo' ass, we gon' cut your hair off
>And fuck you with a broomstick

>Think about it, punk motherfucker

>>12641
maybe
it comes with the machismo theme ig
this is why ive diversified my music taste into edm as a zoomer transhumanist
i also like rock music before it turned into hardcore punk type stuff (50s-70s)
>>12642
all i can think of is that dmx track with the "homo thugs" line

>But I don't party and shake my butt
>I leave that to the brothers with the funny haircuts
is a little funny

>>12644
Well continuing NWA beefs.

>Play with my bone, would you, Timmy?

>It seems like you're good for makin' jokes about your jimmy
>Well, here's a jimmy joke about your mama that you might not like
>I heard she was a 'Frisco dyke
>But fuck your mama, I'm talkin' about you and me
>Toe to toe, Tim M-U-T
>Your bark was loud but your bite wasn't vicious
>And them rhymes you were kickin' were quite bootylicious

>Luke's bending over so Luke's gettin' fucked, buster

>Gap teeth in your mouth, so my dick's gots to fit
>With my nuts on your tonsils s

just listen to drill lol they still be sayin all sorts of shit like that and even worse shit than 00s 90s rappers. ofc a guy who lives in LA and is fully within the major studio system is going to be more PC than an active gang member

>>12663
UK drill is even more psychotic than Chicago or Bronx drill.

>>12665
I bet you're fun at parties.

>>12662
FYI, the idea conscious rap was deliberately phased out in favour of gangsta rap and rap which promotes doing drugs and other destructive behaviour is a pretty well-known conspiracy theory. This guy is claiming rappers like Common, Talib Kweli, and Mos Def were quietly "blackballed" because the hood was getting too conscious is regurgitating shit we already knew.

Hell, you even saw a mini-revival of the lyrical miracle shit in the early 2010s. Then the Trayvon Martin case happened and the Ferguson Uprising happened and the conscious shit seemingly disappeared overnight. Interesting!

>>12673
> Common, Talib Kweli, and Mos Def

All of these rappers are preachy as fuck.

>>12664
Watching that was like watching a satanic ritual.

Someone should ask the widely acclaimed speaker, writer, journalist, and political analyst Caleb Maupin or Haz if they think rap is “Malthusian”.

There is pro-life woke rap too.

>>12690
Common is preachy as fuck.

No one except ultrasensitive millennials and zoomers cares about using gay or faggot as a schoolyard insult, if you don't actually threaten to make the lives of those groups materially worse everyone correctly acts like it doesn't mean anything.
Eminem is a good example of what happens when someone loses track of that line, at the same time he was dropping "homophobic" bars he was sharing the stage with Elton John. It didn't matter and it still doesn't, but he feels like he needs to "make up" for what were always just dumb edgelord lyrics. Was anyone just sitting around waiting for Eminem to apologize?

>>12696
Eminem has always gotten a free pass on homophobia and misogyny (i.e. songs about killing his mother) because he's white. A Black artist would never get away with any of that.

>>12696
depends. i mean if you're saying a homophobic slur or approving of it, it probably isn't the biggest reach to assume you're not a fan of gay people. but some people can just be edgelords, or mindlessly repeating stuff. also doing a concert with a gay celebrity doesnt mean anything, it could just be business

Listen to drill OP.

Why do rappers never rap about buckbreaking?

>>12697
I dunno about that. There are black superstars who have lyrics that could be perceived as homophobic. Really it's like calling someone a bitch, but if anything Eminem created more controversy because he's white, and white critics weren't used to a white artist keeping it as real as him. You get a kind of realism with Eminem where the guy is absolutely committed to parade his demons publicly and tell his own truth, so you get his bigotries and stupidities with his creativity, intelligence and courage.

>>12634
this is just generational change. In the 2000s using those words were very common and now they're considered offensive. Rap/Hip Hop isn't any more or less "woke" than the general culture, its just a reflection of it.

>>12644
>i also like rock music before it turned into hardcore punk type stuff (50s-70s)
you're a boomer suburban dad

>>12831
what, like "classic rock"? idk sometimes i dip into that. but i like the weirdo psychedelic/prog/glam rock stuff as well

>>12637
There absolutely is, wokeness is garbage. It strips people from having any sort of creativity or edginess or fun, now you have to walk on eggshells to make any joke that's somewhat non-milquetoast. I am a supporter of social justice but I am also a supporter of creativity and fun

"I'm like ᴉuᴉlossnW, I rule with a iron fist
I stab you in the bladder with a dagger and watch you die in piss
Cut inside your wrist, drink the bloodmoney
And your face is the perfect place for a slug, money
You ain't a thug money, you all maggots
You like to chill and hold hands with faggots
You like to conduct yourself like a savage
You like the smell of males on your mattress"

Vinnie Paz my white italian homophobic devout muslim wigger conspiritard infowars king

its a daily thing some new rapper is being shit on for being transphobic or something

Reminds me of A Tribe Called Quest complaining about date rapes in 90's. My instincts yelled idpol about the song tens of years ago (not that I support rape I just wondered why they had such feminist themes in their rap).
