Most legit gang music. Rappers who went to prison for murder permanently or got shot and killed. (biggie and 2pac don't count) (biggie was like a small time drug dealer, 2pac is fucking theatre kid LMAO.)
Starting with one of the most realest. Ra Diggs. Fucking serving 200+ years in supermax currently. He predicted it in this very fucking song while snitching on himself.
He even beat one murder case where they used his rap lyrics in court before he eventually got his centuries long sentence.
>Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis sentenced Mr. Herron to 12 life terms plus 105 years.
>'Cause uyghas is still trapped because uyghas is cash-strapped
>uyghas seeing dollars deflating the Nasdaq
>So irrational decisions go get him an ass crack
>Full of that time, isolated and confined
>Where the only reprieve is the preservation of mind
>With no hesitation, I'm one of the elite
>That's gon' play the judge and jury in the street
>I'ma wave the heat I solemnly swear
>Before I let them give me a hundred and twenty years
>A hundred and twenty years? imagine that there
>>7571omfg can we get past the lib ass takes on rap and music in general. let me be clear- violent lyrics dont magically cause decades of entrenched gang violence its literally the other way around and I dont know why I should have to explain this on a nominally marxist board
also have fun organizing the working class when you actively despise any of the music or entertainment we actually enjoy
>>7721>Look I like rap even shooty shooty money and hoes rap but what the fuck, we shouldn't celebrate actual murderers and gandland fucks. Rap should be a form of self-expression, not something to legitimately aim foragreed
I guess what im trynna say is that even if rap had no lyrics about crime there would be another genre of music that would. doesn't really address the root causes.
the rappers themselves are definitely a mixed bag of glorifying it or actually describing the negative consequences in detail.
