But who buys it? I saw this show where they intercepted thousands of lbs. of weed packed into half wheels and smuggled in huge tubes disguised as carpet rolls. $7 million dollars worth of shitty weed headed into the United States from Mexico.
Where are people still unable to get decent Canadian or legal state's recreational weed smuggled to them? Who is settling for fucking BRICK WEED this century?

Have you ever smoked brick weed or had the opportunity to see and decline it? Are you old enough to remember when it was around? Is it around you now, and if so, where is that?

>Who is settling for fucking BRICK WEED this century?
>Why are people paying a lower price for an inferior product? Are they fucking poor or something?

420chan didn't send their best.

You know what would be funny? If some legal grower in Colorado or somewhere made bricks of weed just for the hell of it. Maybe they could do some boutique style version of it where it didn't totally suck.
There's certainly no law against it. I'd buy a chunk for old time's sake. Cut some off like an old plug of tobacco. I'm in an area where the rec weed is unbelievably cheap as it is, so there's no way Mexican brick weed is actually here. I haven't seen it since the 90s, and only a couple times then. There's just always been a connection to at least decent weed, and the last decade it's been fully legal anyway. Maybe I should plant some weed out in a field and just do it myself.

I asked who the people are.
>they're poor, duh!
is not a sufficient answer. I'd like to know where they are and why there isn't better weed there. You have no call to insult me. 420chan has been gone many years.

funny you brought this up cause i was remembering the good old days of regs, aka schwap, aka brick weed, aka mexi weed. used to get it all the time back in highschool, havent seen it in over a decade. kinda miss it being an alternative to dank though, especially for edibles.

The local dispos have weed for $20/ounce, but it's still 20% blue dream shit, just dried out wrong or the b-buds.
I just got approved for my medical marijuana card though so I'm about to get the keys to the castle. There are more knowledgeable people than budtenders that work in medical places in the bigger cities. I could have access to products they don't sell elsewhere and pick the brains of these cancer weed growers; old heads who have been around longer than me and devoted their lives to growing cannabis for sufferers.
Kind of makes me feel guilty since I'm not suffering a lot, but I paid my fee and got approved.
I opted out of having my own designated grower, but I'm sure I could opt back in later. I could bust out some of the seeds I saved from the turn of the century and probably have the old mids of the day or even some of that skunk shit they don't have anymore.
I miss the high school mexiweed too, just because our tolerances were so low it would still blow our minds. It was twice as strong as some of the leafy shit the previous generation smoked before the advent of sinsemilla. But those hippies got blasted too. It's like always adapting to your income and spending what you have. Our cannabinoid receptors work like that I think. I also think new strains that bred out natural terpenes in favor of THC content blocked certain highs you could achieve with plants which have longer flowering times or grow stringy small buds. All sorts of shit has been bred out and we don't understand it all yet. The seed preservationists ensure someday we will. We just can't get our hands on the cutting edge stuff yet.

New weed is too strong now that it's legalized give me back my mexican dirt weed please.

I have a friend who's a real connoisseur, super fussy about the particularities of each strain and shit, always spends a lot of money on the most pristine and intense stuff he can find, and he still smokes brick sometimes. I think it's a sentimental/nostalgic thing for him.

No there aren't lol.
T. Had my med card since I turned 18 in the 00s

The budtenders at med places are the same stoner budtenders anywhere. Usually some dipshit half naked chick or some burly Mexican. The internet is a much better source of information.

Speaking of, one time I was at a dispensary next to a smoke shop and this young black budtender told me one of the strains was an inhouse grow, and then after I casually mentioned it to the Armenians at the smoke shop that also owned the dispo, and they were like:
>WHO TOLD YOU THAT?!

Back then everything was so fly by night tho. So many dispos on weedmaps basically operating illegally. Rhey would be there for a few months then gone. My cotity never allowed dispos, but there would always be a new one popping up then disappearing in a few months, sometimes at the same exact location lol. But for some reason they still followed medcard rules despite the fact they were operating illegally under other laws

But yeah who the fuck buys Mexican weed? My cousins deal weed in the south and they only buy vacuum packed shit from cali. Had this other hook up in the south when I lived there who used to work in Humboldt who had her own farm connect that sent her pounds of vacuum packed shit in the mail. Never seen or heard of people buying Mexican shit

I'm guessing it must be just a few select areas of the U.S. that are far enough away from bordering rec states. Deep south holdout states where they're gonna be the last to adopt legalization because somehow the backwards morality churchiness there still outweighs the potential tax revenue.

My other theory is that all that weed is destined to be turned into concentrates like BHO, so it's not a matter of 'who are these people settling for brick to smoke?'

But it would make more sense to just do that in Mexico and have far less to smuggle over the border. I would think so at least. WTF do I know? I guess that's why this thread is here.

First recorded in the United States in 1964,[5] Acapulco Gold was defined by the Oxford English Dictionary the following year as "a special grade of cannabis growing in the vicinity of Acapulco…with a color of brownish gold, or a mixture of gold and green."[6] Traditionally cultivated in the Guerrero Mountains outside the city,[7] it is a landrace strain[6] described as having "mind-blowing effects", which were attributed to a long growing season and the plant growing in conditions to which it was adapted.[8] Smuggler and promoter Gary Tovar said that Acapulco Gold's distinctive color was the outcome of the way the plants were aged and dried by the wind off the Pacific Ocean.[9] When cultivated outside its native range, it is considered to be substantially less potent than native plants: "while the original genetics of Acapulco Gold can be found among global seed companies, without that blazing Acapulco sun and Gulf breezes, the end product remains an artifice, a simulacrum of what could be had in 1974."

God dammit that gives me FOMO.

They have got to still be growing that same weed in that same area now, right? It's Mexico. It's not like the government cracked down on it.
Spend the time to grow that shit big outside. I'll pay extra for it!

You can buy seeds for "landrace" strains aka weed strains that are plucked straight from the wild and never bred online.

You think they can be trusted? Seeds aren't guaranteed to grow either.
I should designate a grower for myself and ask them to grow me Acapulco Gold.

I've never had bad weed while living Canada. I think almost all of it is hydro - I've never even seen a seed in my weed.

>>670978
You can get weed DNA tested. There are probably some seed sellers that offer DNA test verified seeds. Alternatively just fuck with a small time supplier you trust. I once found some old hippies 2.0 site where he just sent you seeds for the low in an envelope and he had a bunch of landrace strains. I want to get my hands on some Ethiopian landrace. I've had Durban poison a number of times, but that's crazy there are more landraces out there. I think most strains just come from some combo of Acapulco Gold, Thai, and Afghan.

I'd fuck it up. I need to start by just successfully growing one plant before I buy fancy seeds. I don't know where to start with all that. I've already invested $200 into the medical card. Probably need like $400 worth of equipment to grow.
At this point the weed is so cheap to buy it doesn't make sense to grow. On the other hand I'm bitching about how all weed is the same strong hybrid these days.
I'd rather just pay extra for the special weed. Someone soon will decide to grow some difficult, low-yield strain knowing there are people out there who will seek it out.

>>670993
> I've already invested $200 into the medical card.
You fool! Just go with the cheapest doctor. I never paid more than like 20 or 40 bucks. Actually I think the first time I was stupid and went to a doctor with a fancy office. But it's fucking stupid to pay anything besides bare minimum because each rec is exactly the same. That's at least my experience in California.

>Probably need like $400 worth of equipment to grow.

I think more than that. Also ton of energy usage. Depends on how you want to grow. You don't have to try and maximize yield. It's called weed because it grows like weeds.

>>670995
I'm not in California so there's no easy way to do it. $150 took care of everything and I talked to a doctor over the phone for like 4 minutes. The easy way.
Then $50 for the actual card through the state.

Domestic CBD weed is apparently the main source for all this chemically altered delta-8 THC (not the normal delta-9 THC) which is filling the market right now because of that weird hemp farm law loophole

Delta 8 is old news. Now it's all about "THCa weed", which everyone says is just the D9 before it's heated and turned into D9. So according to everyone I've read that means it's just regular old ass weed, but they're just literally changing the name and that's flying under the farm bill. They sell it with way less regulations than recreational weed states. They just sell it at every gas station here in Texas

Although I guess Texas finally outlawed it. It's been out for like a year or two tho.

Texas bans weed but still allows booze?
Even Florida isn't like that

>>671032
Florida has booze. Every state has booze. This is America.
