I keep hearing liberals throw around this term for the Trump admin. But can someone explain how this is any different than normal capitalism and how things were anyways??

Save for the fact that burgers arent dependent on one export, I dont see the term meaningful in any way except as a way for liberals to deflect from realizing its just capitalism as normal.

It's just low(?)-key liberal racism and/or ignorance of the term's history.

firstoids always tried to pretend their liberalism was distinct from the failures of liberals in the third-world which were CIA run dictatorships but due to neoliberalism the imperial core itself is being consumed by the violence it used to export to others

Trump isn't making the US a banana republic. That's not what that word means. Libs are just dumb.

Banana republics are named for how Chiquita (later others) basically took over and ran multiple Central American countries to turn them into banana plantations.

Is it just masked liberal smugness and satisfaction from destroying other nations with CIA then? Like they just want to make a point about how shitty the US is by feeling good about how shitty theyve been to the world?

>>671535
yeah aside from dependency on one export (which the US is not so libs are dumb either way), I dont see how its different from normal capitalism

>>671540
In normal capitalism the various corporations usually compete to control the state, in a banana republic it's the monopoly of a single corporation.

>>671530
its the libs equilavent of rightoids complaining about the 'brazilification' of the USA

>>671540
If the US is a banana republic now, then it always was. You could maybe argue for its export being military, food, or pharmaceuticals or something but the reality is it exports those things as a dominant power not a resource colony.

>>671540
Banana republics are semi-colonies

>>671543
Doesnt capitalism tend towards monopolies anyways though, especially over its main exports?

Liberals don't care about any of the economic stuff, they're just crying that their precious institutions are being discarded like the used condoms they are. The context for the term is always some bullshit about how Trump is disrespecting the heckin congress or doing other things they don't want to be associated with their precious Developed Democracy. Those people actually believed the bullshit.

their only real export is culture
