As per usual, just like with romanticism of suffering, "stoicism" is usually promoted by people who were underachievers throughout their entire prime years and so cope by semi-consciously pathologising others who "have it made".

Stoicism is bastardised for gender ideology just like empathy is.

It was never about the surplus of consumer goods and comfort that is 'le bad'. The point being that most of humanity's achievements were done under persistence, temperance and action; definitely not a rinsed-out ideological rooting into the masses to idolize wageslavery including vice-versa. What happens after capitalism is overthrown and people aren't indebted wageslaves? The point being that during the time that we have the actual material and societal conditions for self-fulfillment and independence we wouldn't be confined to the same zero-sum material instantenous pleasures of the person in picrel. And in order to do so we would have to start now. The motives aren't going to magically materialize after capitalism. This isn't about stoicism or whatever manosphere grift that sterilizes emotion but more the direct refutation of hedonism at it's core and a warning over it's subsistence post-capitalism.
