The main reason why we care about cheating and infidelity is because it tells you about the level of commitment someone has for that relationship. If your partner is a philanderer or a slut then they will just abandon you for someone else sooner or later which makes it not worth it to invest a relationship with them.

Now, sex workers are another thing entirely. People who sell their sexual labour for monetary reasons are completely different from people who sex with strangers because they have erotomania or troubles with long term commitment. Although since sex work itself is a risky field with a disproportionately high level of people with fucked up childhood and thus corresponding social problems in theory there is nothing wrong with dating a SW; sex work is after all just a form of work.
Of course, there is the risk that your partner might find a very attractive client and run away, but that has more to do with your partner's self control and discipline rather than their field of work, but a more valid complaint is the inherent intimacy involved in sex, but that is another discussion entirely
