as much as i hate christfags i have to admit that the progression from disorganized animism and polytheism to strictly hierarchical monotheism such as the abrahamic religions was undeniably a good thing, i absolutely hate christianity islam judaism but its much more convenient for me keeping god in a specific place and not randomly accusing every other pebble of having a hidden spirit in it. imagine going through your daily routine constantly pestered by the souls of your ancestors, you go for a walk and get mogged by the dryads and water nymphs, you forgot to sprinkle milk on the ground so a lesser daemon sends a crocodile to rip your head off and you just kinda take it because its auspicious or whatever
