I'm convinced describing people as "introverts" or "extroverts" is just a few steps removed from using zodiac signs to derive someone's personality.
THE BODY WAS TOO SHORT OR TOO EMPTY

The difference between an introvert and an extrovert in reality is social skills and self-confidence.

I group people in two camps:
real uyghas and fake uyghas. OP is a fake uygha. I'm a real one.

It is a completely valid personality dimension, its just that people treat it as two categories rather than normal distribution.

>social skills
doesn't exist
>self-confidence
fake concept

all the "soft skills" and "self-esteem" nonsense were invented by american psychologist (which should be by itself a red flag) to launder privilege. it's an appeal to vibes to cover inconvenient facts

all pop psychology personality traits are either circumstantial or straight up superstition

>it's an appeal to vibes to cover inconvenient facts
What are these facts?

Personality classifications have always been that
The four temperaments which have been used since Medieval Times or phrenology

Postmodern society prioritises "soft skills".
And irony is, our child rearing is overregulated to the point where youth aren't allowed to socially develop naturally.

And also irony, the moral obsession with soft skills has left a glaring deficiency in hard skills.

Irony is, you'd learn a lot of soft skills if youre in a blue collar job.

This.
Especially when it comes to childhood development
Children have their lives fucked up by chauvinistic parents worried about their kids exhibiting nuances that "may lead them to become homosexual"

<Brain Activity Differences:

>fMRI studies show differential brain activation in introverts vs. extroverts. For instance, introverts often show more activity in the frontal lobes, associated with internal processing.

>Extroverts show more dopamine activity, especially in response to rewards and novel stimuli, which may explain why they seek social stimulation.

<Arousal Regulation (Eysenck's Theory):

>Hans Eysenck (1960s) proposed that introverts have a higher baseline level of cortical arousal, making them more sensitive to stimulation — thus preferring quieter environments.

>Extroverts, having lower arousal, seek out external stimulation to "feel right."

ya don't think some people are better at navigating conversation and social tact?

>>686917
I don't say no, but let's be honest, most of the time it's overused especially since not all peer groups are the same

Some people are more assertive in groups that match their interests while being more quiet/passive in other groups that aren't.

Eh kinda.
The INTJ stuff is bullshit but there's clearly people who thrive in social environments and those that don't.

I've always found it very silly myself. No matter what way people describe them, the attributes of introversion and extroversion seem to be in constant flux for like, everyone. I am sometimes recharged by socialization, if it's good socialization. I'm sometimes recharged by being alone and chilling, because, y'know, obviously.
The idea that you could call a whole-ass person "an extrovert" or "an introvert" seems ridiculous, and like it only caught on because shy people exist and normies demanded an explanation.

How so?

>No matter what way people describe them, the attributes of introversion and extroversion seem to be in constant flux for like, everyone.
The terms describe broader tendencies. You are misguided to believe it‘s a rapid up and down for everyone to the same degree. It‘s easily observable that some people seek out socialization often and others are often socially withdrawn.

>I am sometimes recharged by socialization, if it's good socialization. I'm sometimes recharged by being alone and chilling, because, y'know, obviously.

You are an ambivert and your fallacy was to make yourself the total sample size to derive a universal conclusion from.

>The idea that you could call a whole-ass person "an extrovert" or "an introvert" seems ridiculous, and like it only caught on because shy people exist

Introversion doesn‘t mean being shy.
