>>686983I'm the same age as you, and I kinda disagree with you. Of course, there are some zoomers who don't know what a folder is when using an PC operating system, but a few years ago, I was following some zoomie students on Twitter because they were talking about local politics, niche Marxist theory and art, and damn, every time they mentioned their age, I felt like I was very naive in my early 20s compared to them. They were knowledgeable about a lot of subjects and read quite a few books.
Some zoomers might be vapid, but many millennials were vapid and clueless when growing up too.
But the part I disagree the most with is this:
>I think the vice addictions are especially worrying and a major shift from millennials who were mostly moving away from vices (weed excluded).Maybe it's only my country, but it's absolutely untrue.
If you party a little bit, you will see that millennials, but also zoomers and gen X are consuming cocaine, molly/MDMA/3-MMC and ketamine quite often. From 16 to 55 years old. And if it's not that it's malt liquor and weed. And it was already the case when I was a teenager.
Maybe I don't hang out enough with middle class millennoids who start having a career and a familly, enroll in yoga classes and so on, but even among that crowd, there are still a few cocaine users once the kids are asleep.
But I think people in my country take a lot of drugs to cope with how shitty the situation is for everyone except billionaires, I know it's different in other countries, and every time I come back, I'm kinda horrified even if I occasionally take drugs.
