>gen alpha

Really young
>zoomers
Fairly young
>millennials
Still youngish, about my age
>boomers
Old

I am 32 and have been interacting with gen Z a lot lately because of work.
Generations are kind of a spook and there's all types of people of all ages, but there's some general trends I've noticed that I don't like
>vaping addiction
>smartphone addiction
>online gambling addiction
>AI generated slop addiction
>bad with computers (only know how to use smartphones)
>bad at writing anything longer than a tweet
>hate using their phone as a phone (don't even like texting either)
>constantly ghosts, even if you see them frequently IRL
>either politically unplugged or degenerate andrew tate/etc fans
>haven't watched many movies from before they were born
>haven't read many books
Obviously there are exceptions to this but they're trends I've seen.
I think the vice addictions are especially worrying and a major shift from millennials who were mostly moving away from vices (weed excluded).

Also it's funny that gen X got forgotten in your list.

>AI slop addiction
>Online gambling addiction

This is all things I've noticed from other generations as well.
Also what's so bad about AI compared to other forms of media?
Also, bad at writing things longer than a tweet?
Most Gen Zers wrote long essays online of necessary.

>constantly ghosts, even if you see them frequently IRL

>either politically unplugged or degenerate andrew tate/etc fans
>haven't watched many movies from before they were born
>haven't read many books

These are applicable to any generation.
Especially the books part.
Also being politically unplugged isn't a bad thing.
And I see more older people whom are into Tate or the like.

And I meet a lot of older people who ghost on phone even after meeting up IRL

>>686983
>bad with computers (only know how to use smartphones)

That's ironic
I especially see a lot more people older than Gen Z whom are a bit clumsy with desktop computers but are better at handling smartphones.

Is this another one of these threads where people are gonna complain about zoomers and alphas more than boomers?

>>686958
And 100 years ago, everyone “knew” that the world was flat. >:D

>>686958
>gen alpha
victims of an economic system that was never intended to benefit them
>zoomers
victims of an economic system that was never intended to benefit them
>millennials
victims of an economic system that was never intended to benefit them
>boomers
victims of an economic system that was never intended to benefit them

Aren't you forgetting Gen X?

I find it funny how millennials are finding things to complain about concerning their juniors, especially since most of the grievances are the same ones boomers said against millennials

I'm the same age as you, and I kinda disagree with you. Of course, there are some zoomers who don't know what a folder is when using an PC operating system, but a few years ago, I was following some zoomie students on Twitter because they were talking about local politics, niche Marxist theory and art, and damn, every time they mentioned their age, I felt like I was very naive in my early 20s compared to them. They were knowledgeable about a lot of subjects and read quite a few books.
Some zoomers might be vapid, but many millennials were vapid and clueless when growing up too.

But the part I disagree the most with is this:
>I think the vice addictions are especially worrying and a major shift from millennials who were mostly moving away from vices (weed excluded).
Maybe it's only my country, but it's absolutely untrue.
If you party a little bit, you will see that millennials, but also zoomers and gen X are consuming cocaine, molly/MDMA/3-MMC and ketamine quite often. From 16 to 55 years old. And if it's not that it's malt liquor and weed. And it was already the case when I was a teenager.
Maybe I don't hang out enough with middle class millennoids who start having a career and a familly, enroll in yoga classes and so on, but even among that crowd, there are still a few cocaine users once the kids are asleep.
But I think people in my country take a lot of drugs to cope with how shitty the situation is for everyone except billionaires, I know it's different in other countries, and every time I come back, I'm kinda horrified even if I occasionally take drugs.

This. Millennials were into popping pills as a substitute for booze
Millennials really do have no self awareness these days

>>687020
>I felt like I was very naive in my early 20s compared to them. They were knowledgeable about a lot of subjects and read quite a few books.
>Some zoomers might be vapid, but many millennials were vapid and clueless when growing up too.

Most people are valid and clueless about academic stuff. I find it funny how society uses it as a moral compass for young people when so many older people are ignorant as well.

>>687020
You have shifting baseline syndrome, you only think millennials were big on drugs because you have no idea about all the drug abuse the boomers were doing in their youth.

>gen alpha
mega ultra cringe

half-based half-cringe

Yeah it's not like the actively dismantled socialism or anything, lol

I see they are all in a circle of blaming the older generation for being backwards retards, then get accused of the same by the younger generation when it grows up. Reality is these categorisms do not make any kind of broad sense except as markers of cultural frame of reference they have, and pitting people against each other in a Kulturkrieg based on dumb shit like what cartoons they watched as kids.

>>687097
It's the opposite. They blame their juniors and seniors for everything wrong in society while touring their own group as some innocent middle child.

>>687048
He never specifically blamed millennials.
He also said there were zoomers and Gen X.
Also everyone knows boomers did everything under the sun

as collectives? nothing.

>>687108
boomers even did SÉX which is now banned
