Reminder that you cannot be a real Christian without being a young-earth creationist. The whole Christianity since its separation from Judaism is built on the thesis that God had sacrificed his mortal incarnation (Jesus) to atone for the original sin of Adam and remove the guilt of it from humanity. And belief in the original sin of Adam implies that literal, historical Adam had existed and was literal, material progenitor of all humans. And belief in literal, historical Adam implies belief in near-simultaneous divine creation of both universe and humanity no more that ~10000 years ago.
If you claim to be a "Christian" and argue that anything in the book of Genesis should be understood metaphorically, or that the universe, yet alone humanity, is more than 10000 years old, or, Yahweh forbid, that Neanderthals or Erectuses were actual beings that actually existed, I have bad news (or is it a good news?) for you - you are not a real Christian, you are a crypto-Gnostic.
Yeah, Pope Francis was a crypto-Gnostic, as well as a vast majority of modern "Christians" (although this is probably true about a majority of historical "Christians", too).
>no true ChristianDumb as hell, if you believe in Christ and worship him or his daddy or whatever you're a Christian by definition.
>but that's a contradictionI can't think of anything more Christian
