self improvement is such a fucking meme. some people are just destined to be doomed. i fixed a lot of my mental illness, lost a bunch of weight, cleaned up my resume, got preparations to move out, saved up, and now years later i can't get a job because the economy's in nuclear meltdown because society's collapsing, can't get housing because the cost of it skyrocketed due to blackrock, and i can't date anyone because i'm gay and depend on a christofascist homophobic mother for housing who would kick me out if she found out about it. and i'll probably be sent to a camp within a few years.

I'm just staying home for a couple of months to save up some money and pay down some debts, pretended to get my diploma and didn't just flunk out after OD'ing (and continuing to do drugs) so I have some goodwill.

Also pretended that I have a sure thing job and apartment hooked up, I don't, but I know it'll be okay, hopefully I have some bank and a new place by October.

Thank fucking God the union movement won in my country so this actually can pan out, it sucks that the work they did is currently being torn down by neocons and Blairites.

Imagine all of that. But you are rotting in bed by the time you get to that point. many just give up. Maybe you have given up, but you know life can change. To them it doesn't feel like it can, so why bother. We can't control what happens, for sure. And self improvement is lowkey a meme, it isn't end all be all. But we can be ready, as close as we can.
