watching my dad fucking working himself to death and not getting by with his power washing/carpentry/commercial painting business. he would come home miserable, angry, and fucking drenched in sweat everyday. i still remember sitting in the work truck with him and glancing at the pool of sweat that had gathered at his thighs on the leather seat. it probably would’ve been deep enough to submerge an index finger halfway to the topmost knuckle.
it’s really as simple as that.

once you see someone with that kind of work ethic and business acumen in constant economic turmoil (in no small part due to living in a smaller rural city in TN) you inherently KNOW that something in the way that our society is structured has gone horrifically wrong. it breaks my fucking heart.

both my mom and my dad have dwindled and self destructed over the course of their lives as a direct consequence of neoliberal capitalism. and substance abuse. but how else do you cope with such a grim reality?

as a matter of fact, not even the top richest porkies are the protagonists, theyre trash no matter how much they narcissistically delude themselves.
the simple fact is, capital rules everything, humans have no say in anything, and so long as capital continues to demand sacrifices it will be done, and our lives will continue to get shittier, and our world will continue to get worse, because we are ruled over by this invisible creature, this entity of our own making that doesnt actually exist, just an artificial social phenomenon that gained life agaisnt our will, we built the very mechanisms that are leading to our destruction as a species, and we are too proud to see it.
