The press used to be super liberal (I’m not defending liberalism I’m just saying that they were liberal) but now they’re super conservative. Back when they were liberal they used to actually fucking do their jobs and ask actual questions to politicians, all that changed after 9/11 were now if you watch a press conference the press will ask “Trump why are you so great and what will your next genius idea be?” Water gate could never happen again because the press will no longer leak anything if the government doesn’t like it. It’s not just the press but it’s the culture too. When water gate happened republicans felt betrayed by Nixon, if Trump were to do watergate republicans would just say “It’s woke and gay to not spy on your opponents!”
