Idk but it annoys me, makes me feel like if I were to upload shit to youtube I'd fail just for not being like all the other shit.

There's veriety, at least the ones I got in my RSS reader. There is definitely a generic-yet-over-the-top editing style though.

I've made some pretty popular-for-a-beginner videos that are just unedited 480p game footage.
Once you got the basics solid everything on top of that is icing / toppings / whatever food analogy you prefer. Go in raw and refine later.

I just make videos to send specific people, and because it got viewed so early after upload it gets reccomended to people.
