Why was the soviet union such an evil shithole?

And still the standard of living was better than in the US today.

>Evil

He's right

The Novocherkassk massacre is also described in the novel Red Plenty. IIRC (and if the author wasn't making up things, it was a novel after all) there was a pretty basic miscalculation about the caloric needs of the population, which still would have worked out if everybody there had been in an office job.

>the ussr was le evil murderer dystopia
>um actually the ussr was a utopia they dindu nuffin

type of person who thinks any of this shit matters to the proletariat anywhere in 2025

>>704947
The Soviet Union was better than any capitalist country existing to date, if your metric is human needs and not GDP.

>>704946
Mathematicians lied, workers died.

>>704955
The human need of being shot for striking as a factory worker?

>>704955
But the soviet union had an constany lack of sufficient human needs for its entire existance its why the corrupt shithole collapsed in the first place.

>>704955
are you illiterate or something

all these retarded posts are always "waahhhh my heccin favorite bourgeois welfare state is gone waaahhh". the dissolution of the ussr had no transformative change on the proletariat except in increasing its size relatively within its former territories

>>704957
No, the human need of health care, housing and simple foods to live by.

>>704959
Yeah, it‘s very surprising how a novel system could experience any issues such as with economic planning when they didn‘t even have the computation available to process all the information that would arise from governing such a huge country such as the USSR.

>>704960
>are you illiterate or something
I did read your reductive straw man.

>the dissolution of the ussr had no transformative change on the proletariat

Except that without the Soviet Union the West was freer in conducting imperialism and neocolonialism and indoctrinating the world into neoliberal thought, while prior the USSR aided colonial liberation movements and socialist movements across the planet.

>>704959
Nice lies bro, problems arised only after 1980
>>704960
>USSR
>bourgeois welfare state
The absolute state of purity spiralers

>>704937
It was corn man the revisionist

>>704937
Brezhnev is to blame.

shooting the protestors is correct tho, striking under a communist state is akin to treason and anti-communist

>>705052
Then you admit it’s no better than when fascists do the same to their dissenters

>>705058
No, because dissenters of fascism are protesting on behalf of the working people, while dissenters of communism are protesting in opposition to working people.

>>705052
By which you are implying the USSR was truly communist which is dubious. The Soviet Union created a new class antagonism between state bureaucrats and workers. If there are no distinct classes then there are no contradictions, yet there were contradictions.

>>705058
Retard.

>>705065
>The Soviet Union created a new class antagonism between state bureaucrats and workers.
Nonsense.
>If there are no distinct classes then there are no contradictions, yet there were contradictions.
Of course there were distinct classes, there were still petty capitalists arising and the kokholzes were not public property but were co-operatives.

ppl will post shit like this as some gotcha and then make excuses for all the times there pet favorite liberal capitalist revolutionaries engaged in the same shit(shays rebellions, vendees, etc). The current meta of online political discussion is realpolitik for me but not for thee. Also OP will never get a good analysis of any event present or past if they come trying to label shit "good" and "evil" right out the gate lmao.

>>705052
>>705061
idealist liberal

>>705065
>>705067
I honestly don't know why ppl just use the term "transitional state" more often. I mean imagine if liberal capitalist revolutions were held to the same standard. The USA hasn't even had close to universal suffrage for most of it's history and hold outs of semi-feudal production in the south until the early 20th century(they even had there own version of cuban gusanos in the form of loyalists living in southern canada). If there one thing I agree with the Deng enjoyer crowd about its that you shouldn't expect any group of revolutionaries to just magically change an entire economic mode of production in a short amount of time.

You gotta do what you gotta do
