Debbie downers aren't very fun to be around. Plus they probably require more care than the average person is willing to give. At least that's the way I see it having been a negative loser of my life. Also I think people like me tend to self isolate and stay away from most people anyways.

I think it's an offshoot of juvenoia.
- Losers fail to meet the expettations of adulthood, reminding people of their own shortcomings toward those ideals.
- Cynicism (millenials), nihilism (zoomers) and other emotionally negative tendencies are growing among the young. People want to see these as phases to be overcome and not a result of material conditions.

i suppose that among people genuinely repulsed by even the slightest bit of negativity, for a fraction it's due to the overall negativity in their personal lives being overwhelming, and for another fraction it's a part of a self-delusion ritual (pretending to not notice & avoid it)
the former becomes the latter
