ever since i left fandom spaces i felt mentally better than i was for the past couple of months to perhaps 2 to 3 years or so mainly cause of the furry fandom but also because of fandom discourse appearing around the morality of drawings on my feed too as well as being on social media. i tried giving roblox fandoms a chance but i gave up and stuck to furry. but the amount of puritanism, reactionaries, and modern day burned furs in the fandom ruined my mental health further so i left the fandom and decided to focus on my interests ever since. i also quit social media as well, deleted my xitter account, and used tumblr and bluesky less now (not like i was planning to use the latter to begin with). i also left the art community as well despite me being an artist myself and put more focus on art as a hobby than as a commodity just to form an online platform. i’m still planning to have some sort of platform, but it will mostly be random stuff cause it’s my platform after all, and i can do whatever the fuck i want to do with it. esp if i gained 34k subscribers/followers (which i dont have but it would probably be interesting or nice to have at some point in the future). despite communities being a complicated topic and “it just depends idk man” thing cause niche communities tend to be way better in my experience. and art is a fun hobby or tool to entertain yourself and others. to me, it felt like modern day fandoms, art and bigger “communities” are a result of capitalism, and reactionary culture/sub cultures invading spaces, and fandoms started off in the past as something revolutionary a step towards feminism. but that’s just me i guess, and i don’t even know what the fuck am i talking about, im just a jaded retard on the internet using leftypol as a place to complain and share my struggles. what do i know much about politics anyways
>>713345You probably felt mentally better because you graduated out of middle school
>>713364I'm sorry for saying this. I've been trying to stop saying rude things to people on the internet. I will try to do better in the future.
>>713364>graduated out of middle schoolyeah fandom culture is pretty much eternal high school
fandom is religion. especially worse with currently producing "content" wherein corpo sales goals and "canon" are treated as scripture and bible respectively and thus bootlickers of the like youve never seen appear and multiply defending any and all exploitation to get their fix. probably worse than religion in some ways because they actually get a reward for their prayers, no matter how alienated from the production the fans are. yes im still salty at bootlickers who the fuck cares
How do you find reactionaries and puritans in the fucking furry fandom of all places?
>>713419i think it’s because of them having a platform on twitter and instagram and being the loudest. most of the modern furry fandom are rampant with shit libs who originally hated furry but picked it up for “le monies” or “furries” who claim to be socialists but never picked up a book before so its whatever
>>713419you must live in a bubble if you think theyre rare lmao, and idk why we have to pretend in a communist imageboard that leftoid furries are any less insufferable
>>713364that would imply he got into high school right afterwards which doesn't do anyone's mental health any good
>>713383makes sense fandoms are basically the modern day equivalent of religious. the amount of adults i’ve seen in fandom spaces spend their entire lives dedicated to hating children and minors for no reason is insane
i hate the word fandom for some reason
>>713807the word feels retarded so i don’t blame u
>>713364>>713374>>713503And yet people say schooldays are the best years of your life.
>>718713for the porky's child, yes
>>718714Idk. Even porkys kids probably catch hell.
>>718716it depends. it's common for the petite bourgeois to employ their children for "life lessons" but that's still a better experience compared to the prole family child of the same age working their summer/part-time job with no connections
>>718718Way do you mean?
Both are good experiences.
In fact, I think general schooling should be blue collar primarily.
The problem with public schooling is this focus on “socialization” which is mainly just forced group activities and lack of individualization.
Kids are treated based on their age rather than their skill set.
>>719408So you're a kid still. Got it.
No hate though. Kids be kids
>>719409no i’m an adult and i graduated from high school including school in general dumbass. you’re most likely a kid projecting yourself onto me. but you’re also ragebaiting which is something i can tell so i wont interact with you anymore
>>719432yeah that’s something i noticed too. which is why i left the fandom. the usage of fancy text by some fans sometimes annoys me too cause it makes it harder for people with disabilities, or people who need a screen reader overall, to read the text as well if it’s on their profile or website cause they wanna start a business or something like that
>>719494If you graduated this year youre 17 or 18 no? Thats pretty much a kid
>>719503no i’m a year or two older than that now since my birthday happened two months ago. and the universal age to become an adult is 18 years old. plus most of society would think a “kid” around that age is automatically an adult since your body stops growing at 15-17 years old and puberty ends around that time too despite being underaged by law (this happened to me before irl). are you dumb?
>>719589Dude, you act and talk like a 15 yo why are you surprised youre being mistaken for a kid. Chill out man
>>719589It’s sad but in the west, they refer to young adults as “kids” and even treat them as such.
>>719409Wdymbt?
“Kid” doesn’t automatically mean “troll”
>>719590NTA but how and why?
Especially since we are in imageboards, where maturity is non existent?
>>719590how am i acting like a 15 year old for providing information and getting defensive? mentally speaking, an 18-19 year old are still on pair with people who are 15-17 year olds, so why are you even surprised? not all adults develop the same either and comparing someone to a 15 year old is ableist too. i’m pretty sure minors aren’t allowed on imageboards like this one either. just do research if you don’t want me to “aCt LiKe a 15 YeAr OlD.” you are probably those xillenials that stay indoors and never talked to a 18-21 year old ever in your life before cause you probably think they’re all minors for no reason based on their appearance and infantilize high schoolers too
>>719591i’m a westerner so it’s no surprise they would behave like this and think like this too. sometimes i don’t think even the adults in leftist communities or who generally claim to be leftists are even actually “leftists” and are just motivated by western or american imperialism. i have a feeling the same ageist westerners would flirt with. minor from a foreign country if they had the chance because they “look” like and “behave” like an adult. the amount of “minors dni” accounts who end up attempting to befriend, follow, or interact (and mock them later) minors despite not wanting to interact with them is staggering
this is precisely why i left the pregnant garfield fanbase, too much drama
>>719605All true what you said.
Wanna know something even more surprising?
using children as maturity insults is often prevalent in spaces where maturity is lower than average.
Also, in the post boomer west, many people under fifty five but over twenty five whine about “being old”, even referring to themselves as “boomers” or “old man” or “old lady” but will get offended if a younger person called them as such.
And these same people whom you’re criticizing also really hate adulthood.
They exaggerate the starkness of working and responsibility. Most of them think childhood is heavenly despite not having any highlights in their youth.
>>719605I'm 24 and I have friends who are 20-21 and even they refrain from this infantile bullshit.
>but the ableismI don't give a shit about you, really
>>719619>even they refrain from thisNTA but what’s that supposed to mean?
It sounds more like a backhanded compliment
>>719494>>719589Lurk more or better yet go back to TikTok
>>719619so you’re the 15 year old in the room considering the fact you’re being edgy now. got it but i do hope you recover from your daily usage of reddit (or overall being a redditor)
>>719629i dont use tik tok plus your response sounds like something a person who constantly doom scrolls on instagram reels or youtube shorts instead of tik tok would say anon
literally why is /siberia/ allergic to a little wokeness? i don’t see why it’s a big deal all of a sudden. i feel like you guys won’t survive the protests happening throughout the 1960s-1980s in the west during that time irl either
>>719639>you're being edgyWhat
>redditI dont browse reddit, what are you talking about
>>719645I don't think the Black Panthers were debating over the politics of children's cartoons but I could be wrong.
A lot of New Left bullshit is responsible for the current state of things as well tbh.
>>719629Doesn’t this site already post TikTok vids and obsess over trending video genres?
Also “lurk moar” is funny considering this is the /b/ of Leftypol
>>719652Western leftism died in the 1970s
>>719646who’s an edgy redditor?? :3
>>719648why is it funny to see people on image boards pissing their pants over a couple words on a screen? its not that deep and nine out of ten times you’re falling for obvious ragebait or are a stupid person too busy trying to instigate shit further online instead of seeking employment
it seems like anon
>>719648 is against anti intellectualism but instead of being a well behaved human being and educating me they decided to crap their pants at words on a screen and invade my thread with an anime girl that appears to be drawn and a character from a franchise excusing “gatekeeping” things. i don’t even use social media anymore besides instagram just to talk to friends btw
>>719678>Wahh educate meAnd this uygha saying he isnt a child
>>719680are you really that pissed lmao. also believing your opponent is a child and overall assuming how old they are without proof is weird as fuck sorry not sorry
>>719652>I don't think the Black Panthers were debating over the politics of children's cartoons but I could be wrong. Nazis used cartoons as propaganda (as did the USA whose settler ghettos inspired Hitler)
>>719688and where are the black panthers now?
