It's time for my contrarian take of the day (or middle of the night I guess.)
"Irony poisoning" is good actually.
What do I mean by this? Well, you know how sometimes reactoids will come out of the gate swinging with ridiculous straw-men like "Gommies killed gorillions, and Stalin was a satanist who ate babbies!!!" and sometimes some irony poisoned detached dirtbag leftist will reply like "Yeah so? It was based and epic pilled. Get over it chud. 😎 " Well I've recently seen anons call out this behavior and say that it is bad, but I've not seen any real articulation of why it is bad.
So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it is actually good to do this. My main reasoning is:
1. It is funny and appeals to my subjective sense of humor, and
2. It completely shuts down the moralistic presupposition that this entire argument is based on, ie "Killing is wrong, therefore Stalin is evil for killing" which allows for the discussion to either end briskly, or move onto something of actual importance.
>B-b-but if we do that then people will REALLY think we are a bunch of mass murdering cannibalistic sadist evil totalitarian baby eating-
Blah blah blah, now I don't like Stalin, and I'm not even an ML, but completely regardless with whether or not Stalin really did those things, or your judgement of them, this reads like you are genuinely more concerned with optics, vibes, feels, aesthetics, etc, ANYTHING BUT the material reality that exists objectively independently of your perceptions. The best reply to such idealistic tenancies is to save yourself time and brusquely tell them to fuck off. As an aside, I don't know if they were a regular here, but we had an anon make a thread that decried the "canonization of violence" among "the left" with the crux of their "argument" being that "violence is wrong." But they simply would not articulate why they thought violence was wrong.
You cannot reason with these people because they simply are not reasonable. So don't entertain their moralistic delusions, but do humor their greatest fears, because they are deep down inside nothing more than afraid.
And another thing, I know we have more than a few "ethical socialists" on this site, who believe the word socialism is just a synonym of egalitarianism and actually think killing is evil, so I hope they will have an argument to the contrary.
>>713904I literally got a 4 week ban for doing that as a joke. (Mods were nice and accepted my appeal in a few hours) But it partly inspired me to make this thread.
>>713902The sword of irony cuts both ways. Making socialists sound like edgy 14 years old and psycho post modern Nazis and Israelis is probably bad and does the work of intelligence agencies but that assumes the internet is important. I'm guessing you wouldn't say that shit in real life but who knows nowadays.

If members of a communist party start "ironically" saying that raping women is based to own the rightoids, that immediately alienates 50% of the base.
You can only play this game because you have no real movement and what you say doesn't matter.
Also because middle class male whitoids are relatively secure, they can afford to just say shit.
>>713925Ignoring the hypothetical that this communist party has a perfectly equal sex distribution (or you were referring to the
potential for distribution), and that it implies no woman has ever found rape jokes funny.
The attack against outrageous and ironic anti-humor is idealistic and pathologically pre-occupied with aesthetics. It necessarily assumes a false premise in order to rationalize itself.
>You can only play this game because you have no real movement and what you say doesn't matter. This is true, in that I don't have a movement, but it also assumes that I would willingly wreck any movement by making gratuitous rape jokes at every opportunity, or even when lacking opportunity. (Or that I am somehow ignorant that such actions could result in wrecking.) My OP does make reference to specific context where I thought it appropriate, IE confirming prejudice based in falsehood, when otherwise unable or unwilling to be overturned.
>>713937Why do people keep bringing up twitter, I have literally never used twitter.
I haven't used any sort of social forum/media/blog/board etc in like a week, and the last time I did, it was this site.
>>713902The truth is, every society suffered a cultural wound from CPSU failing to do their job properly after 1953. But this wound is healing. Even chuds are saying "oh hey, China is getting stronger, maybe Marxism-Leninism isn't that bad huh?"
There is nothing you can do about it on the internet except moving on and giving proper counterarguments if you think that the person is reasonable. Everyone on the internet knows about the CIA, Epstein island, etc. These arguments are just becoming more and more comical over time.
