>>716942This is the exact kind of pablum devoid of content that I'm talking about. What does it mean to "go out and make something serious"? Can you even specify it or does it break down when you move from the abstract to the concrete? You're just alive in the illusion that there is a vague thing called "action" that's available to us right now and will solve all our problems yet somehow no one knows what it looks like or how to do it.
Meanwhile you accuse me of achieving nothing but I've at least specified the problems and called on us to reject the orgs and people and ideas that keep absorbing time and attention and resources from all of us despite actually doing nothing, while all I took from you was at most two minutes of your time. And yet even this reasonable, easy notion incenses you so much that you instinctively reject it because I haven't "contributed anything" (also a laughable accusation because who has? Why bother going on leftypol at all if this is your criterion?)
If you want a clear actionable suggestion from me here is one: the next time some org invites you to a protest for some vague ideal, investigate it, see if it's actually being led by committed mature people and not liberal careerists or histrionic terminally online Chapo listeners, see if it actually has a list of goals and a rational strategy that the protest fits into, and if it doesn't then don't go. I've saved you an afternoon and fare money AND we can all stop contributing to the legitimacy of these useless parasites.
Yes, it's "doing nothing", but anyone who doesn't recognize that doing nothing is preferrable to doing something stupid is stuck in the exact hopeless, idealistic, irrational cult mentality that I described in my original post.
