honestly as a person who’s quite vanilla myself besides the weird shit i’m into in fiction. i never really understood bdsm or most kinks in general. i’m into a couple of them but stuff like being punished or being told to beg never really turned me on and makes me stay away from that kind of stuff even further. i don’t have bdsm or whatever and think puritanism is bad obviously, but the community kind of creeps me out, and sometimes it makes me feel worried i would get called a puritan for being uncomfortable or not fully kinky by normies. i know i shouldn’t be speaking since i have even stranger kinks like raceplay and dykebreaking but still

bump

You don‘t „get“ something like that as if it were logically inferable. What you mean is that you don‘t relate to it. It‘s psychological and depends on how you feel about it. Like, I‘m not into feet and I had two friends who are into feet. They told me they are turned on by it because „it‘s the most vulnerable part of her body that she‘s exposing to you“ and shit doesn‘t make sense to me to this day. That‘s how their brain is wired and so they interpret and feel this way about feet.

I‘m not fully into BDSM but I have a slight kink going in that direction. For me it‘s about power and domination over something frail that „has to take it“ and is at my mercy. Definitely sounds fucked up when I say it lol, but I always keep my kink within consent.

>it makes me feel worried i would get called a puritan for being uncomfortable
It's more about how you go about expressing that discomfort, there's a difference between setting personal boundaries vs reacting to something.
<but stuff like being punished or being told to beg
>raceplay and dykebreaking
I'd say the kinks you listed as being uncomfortable with are just raw ingredients of the stuff you're into. They just say it directly and without the demographical identities that ground it
You might see if you're interested in doll / drone stuff

>I'd say the kinks you listed as being uncomfortable with are just raw ingredients of the stuff you're into

nowhere did my post specified i’m uncomfortable with those two though. i specifically stated in my post im into them so im already non vanilla in a way by default

> uncomfortable with are just raw ingredients of the stuff you're into

this i agree with though

the only kink i don’t understand is public sex. like yeah i can’t magically stop people from having sex out in the open. but why would you have sex out in the streets where the world can see you? not everyone wants to see that shit

Yeah but you might want to be seen having sex, or rather like the thrill of being caught. It's definitely selfish, but I'm into it.

Public sex is a display of power and form of domination, or something

Mine is casual nudity, which in turn makes it not casual. I'll never be happy :(
