you can barely tell they're getting purchased by sony
Also
> Gameplay loop is a MOBA-inspired match where you level up your small roster of characters within a session
Who gives a fuck? Bloodborne is fully playable on PC, get on that instead, their last good game.
>fun game to play with your friends
>how can i spin this to be a bad thing
If we never get a proper single player action RPG from From again then complain, or if it releases and sucks then complain about that, but I don't see anything wrong with From making a side game that appeals to L4D types.
>>38630The fuck? I thought this was another DLC.
FROM making spinoff games in between mainline entries that reuse a lot of assets isn't anything new for them but just looking at the game and from what I've heard about it it's unappealing to me. Co-op Elden Ring but it's some roguelike with a BR shrinking circle where you pick a designated hero character that auto levelups and fight random enemies across all the Soulsborne game sounds like something that would be a mod. Also it's weird as fuck you can only play the game solo or with 3 players but not just 2.
>>38636It pretty much is a mod. They noticed people liked modding their games and they've been asked if they'll ever make official versions of some mods and this is their answer.
I don't mind it but I can understand people who only know From from the Souls series looking at it as a betrayal.
Elder ring and the rest of the soulsborne games are shit
Any other developer would rightfully be getting eviscerated for this.
>>38654Eviscerated for what? B team doing a spinoff product? Although it's clear to me that they've added the Elden Ring part just for marketing purposes
>>38655It's not just for marketing purposes. It also saves a shit ton of money reusing assets, and in exchange the game isn't full price.
It's not that far off from the meme.
>>38656I meant that they were making a "Nightreign" game that was a fromsoftware soulslike multiverse PVE battle royale kind of a game, but then slapped on the Elden Ring name for better sales
>>38656honestly, nightrein (and duskbloods) looks like a big experiment about multiplayer (and new movement mechanics) in souls games rather than just a cash grab, and besides microtransactions would be way worse so pick your poision
fromsoft fanboys shitting on nightrein have NO IDEA how bad it can get
Having one cashgrab multiplayer game is annoying but tolerable, having TWO in a row is dumb as fuck and is tarnishing the Fromsoft brand.
