Hi everyone. Fallout addict here. I was modding a bunch of deserts in the Mojave when I came across a bunch of nif files. As I was scrolling through these files and playing around with them in the GECK, I discovered a really neat feature that the devs overlooked in fallout 4.
Basically, a lot of the buildings in new Vegas are actually nifbashed creations off smaller pieces of models. Making buildings in new Vegas is like assembling Lego blocks. You cannot put buildings together in one piece, but you can put together their pieces to create a variety of interesting sets.
Going back to fallout 5, I really hope Bethesda does what Fundog did with the forever winter. I hope they use some sort of NifBashing algorithm to quickly create massive urban environments to have shootouts in. Kind of like what they already did with the dungeon algorithm from daggerfall. If they did, fallout 5 could have massive cities, underground complexes, field fortifications, and outposts that feel more post apocalyptic than the disappointing outposts and levels from 4.
