Fun fact: the guys that made this game worked on horizon zero fucking dawn. That game is a masterclass in AI and expansive environments, and the devs just completely mess this game up in those departments exceptionally badly.
Seriously, it’s worth looking into how bad the movement, AI, and bugs are in this game because the people that developed this are the same people who are working on Sony’s next big titles. Remember the colossal failure that was concord? People hated it for being “woke” and generic. I hated it because it was poorly put together in general. You know what’s worse.
More bad games by Sony and its developers are set to come and one of them could be the last of us part 3.
What the fuck is going on with Sony? Why the fuck are they putting out so many bad games and why are their developers fucking up games with potential like this one?

What is this game?
>>40828Forever winter. Made by horizon zero dawn devs. Don’t play. The AI and movement are awful.
>>40833I won't get it, but I meant like what kind of game is it?
Some sort of mmo shooter?
>>40851It’s an extraction shooter that you can play offline or in groups of up to four players. The game is reminiscent of fallout where you take place in a war torn post nuclear setting, but you’re much more involved in the ongoing war itself than in fallout. Most of the game isn’t spent in combat or in quests but rather in exploration of the game’s levels and hiding from any sign of conflict. The game is mechanically very similar to fallout. You can complete quests to earn a reputation for the game’s three factions, you can speak with NPCs to learn about the lore, you can loot nearly every NPC you kill or corpse you find, there are tiered enemies, and the maps are expansive, but there are no levels or perks or anything that would make the game a power fantasy.
If that’s appealing, go play fallout or some other game that isn’t this one. The AI and movement of this game are archaic and riddled with bugs.!
>>40854I never played an extraction shooter but I also have no desire to try. Especially if its got bugs and bad ai
That reminds me, I need to see if Frostpunk 2 is out yet
>>41574Frostpunk 2 came out already and it was mid as fuck I'm sorry comrade
>>41574Runs like hot garbage, too. Goddamn 1060 6gb can't run a shittybuilding game?? What the fuck did they do?
>>41615citybuilders are some of the most demanding games tho
>>40741>game all about mood and immersion>its a tps rather than a fpsseems stupid, waste of a good concept
>>41618Cities skylines runs perfectly fine even when heavily modded both mechanically and graphically on my machine. Frostpunk barely does any simulation, yet runs the way it does. It's all unoptimized graphics I tells ya.
>>41619That’s preferable given that it has a lot of role playing mechanics like factions and NPCs willing to infodump lore on the Eurasian-euruskan-europan three way war.
Personally, I’d put more concern at this point about the bugs and the smoothness of the gameplay more given how many games release these days with collision and pathfinding bugs along with clunky movement and gameplay.
>>41620CS2 ran like dogshit on release. But yeah sure of course code is important too.
the vibe of the game has always looked great, but if the mechanics are really focused on hiding then i'd rather not
>>41637I find the lore interesting enough that I’m glad that the devs refuse to make the game a power fantasy
I remember seeing the trailer for this game and thinking it was cool and was immediately turned off upon seeing it was an extraction shooter. Same thing with Marathon. What happened to single-player FPS?
Is there any good extraction shooters? I don't know what they are or played one before but I hear they are popular nowadays
>>42193Helldivers 2, deep rock galactic
>>42194Oh those are extraction shooters? I played those before but I never knew they were part of that genre. Darktide is an extraction shooter too I presume, I've been playing that one a lot recently
>>42195I’d consider darktide as more of a horde shooter
>>41631>That’s preferable given that it has a lot of role playing mechanics like factions and NPCs literally completely unrelated to player perspective. FPS is simply better for immersion.
But yeah, ofc actual gameplay experience is even more important
>>42194those are coop horde shooters. extraction shooters have a lot more emphasis on looting, bringing back the loot, choosing when to leave (and are mostly pvp)
