I play this game. It's quite fun, sucks sometimes when you only get lobbies with PC users though who either it is extremely easy for or a large percent cheat because they'll snipe you from halfway across a map again and again, with good lobbies it's quite fun though.
I like taking out fully grown ships with my little soviet ship that could, it's very fun.

I wish they did more with simulator battles. That was way more immersive than whatever comes out of arcade. Also I cannot tolerate the grind of gaijins games

It's a lot of fun but the grinding is insane. I'd much rather just pay full price for the game and not have to play 100 matches just to unlock half a vehicle.

I’ve played so many FPS games at this point. The map size is what makes the gun play the gun play. If the game presumably can handle infantry combat with war thunder sized maps, then the game should play similarly to ARMA given how expansive the urban areas and terrain are.

Not really. Stamina, movement, ballistics, recoil, reloading, noise, HUD. All important parts of realistic gameplay. They can deliberately make some things arcadey just to attract a larger audience or because it's too much work and they don't care.

Compare the gunplay of warzone to the gunplay of idk, fucking black ops. Even if you hate cod, me, I can see an obvious in how people play and move around in the former game just off the basis that you have to actually give a shit about aiming behind concealed and defended positions much more than in the latter.

I won’t say that you’re wrong about the other elements. They matter a lot. But a game like ready or not will never hit the same way as a game like squad just off the fact that much of the combat in the latter is far less cramped and involves far more communication than in the former.

I feel like it's apples and oranges. Both have their place. But War Thunder's infantry should obviously play more like Squad, I'm not sure how it can be any other way while still being a milsim.

It might actually work really well, but I still hate gaijin for putting money into this update instead of fixing enlisted. No one really needs a 1-1 simultaiton of modern infantry combat.

People are going to hate this because expectations are that planes and tanks will shrek infantry, but instead everyone's going to have their dogfights and tank battles interrupted by RPGs and Stingers.

It's like CoD players trying out Battlefield and getting butthurt that it has helis and tanks. Like, bruh, it's not CoD, the point is that all these different units interact with each other instead of fighting in isolation.

honestly I grinded into jets by pure inertia and it's not an enjoyable experience. it is really weird because the maps aren't big enough to accommodate for post-vietnam bvr engagements but they added them anyway and it feels like a botched and dumbed down dcs, including simulator mode

I don't think the manpads will affect planes, helicopters sure, but the plane meta on high tier (like the trailer) is to never spend more than a couple seconds around the tank area
the real problem is going to be that tank battles are 95% camping and stealth, which the infantry will significantly disrupt. the rewards for killing infantry as a tank are going to be low so it won't be worth revealing your position, but if the infantry spots you you are fucked anyways. it will make the high tier tank grind even less entertaining

Idk why people even play ground in that game, its the slowest most skilless (literally who sees the other first wins) most boring shit ever compared to air which is one of the most fun air simulators out there with the best selection of planes to play

Not really. That anon is right for calling ground battles a game of hide and go seek. The only good thing about it is that it’s the only game mode with semi realistic tank combat out of any other milsim in general, and that you don’t get one shotted in every exchange so you’re allowed to strategize if you give a shit about that.
