Primitive Society Simulator is a historical society-building game that lets players guide a prehistoric tribe from a simple communal existence to a stratified civilization. It begins in an egalitarian “primitive communist” stage, where resources, labor, and tools are shared, and there is little distinction between individuals. As the tribe develops agriculture, metalworking, and trade, it begins to produce surpluses, allowing some members to specialize as craftsmen, warriors, or leaders.

This specialization gradually introduces inequality: leaders accumulate authority, private property appears, and social ranks emerge. The game models this shift through systems like organization hierarchies, diplomacy, and class-based housing. Over time, patriarchal families, inheritance, and noble titles develop, solidifying class divisions. In this way, Primitive Society Simulator portrays the long historical transformation from communal, cooperative tribes into societies defined by hierarchy, property, and power.

Currently assigned a new slave leader who will indoctrinate slaves into full members of my tribe. Now that I finally have resources for that.

>Inb4 you cant just enslave people thats anti-communist
Its supposed to be a simulation of how class societies formed.

Can I create drow-style BDSM matriarchy?

>>44826
Yes there will be a patriarchy or matriarchy choice in further updates (the devs are very passionate about this project). But the game probably punishes you for choosing a matrilinear path as its the weaker choice for tribal competition and warfare.

>>44827
How? Women rule and send the men to die.

>>44828
Yeah, it seems like an optimal division of labour. Women are more cooperative, so them being in charge results in less intra-community competition, and men can focus on physical work. Lack of patriarchy to constrain women's role as sexual selector means spread of chad genetics, eventually creating race of 3 meter tall ubermench.

Futa femboy empire would be better

Good question. In the game pregnant women cant partake in combat and women have 50% fighting strenght of men. My guess is that its about lack of military leadership in combat that will cause reduced morale thus making the in-game tribe weaker in warfare.

In real world context patriarchal societies would be more violent and aggressive towards other tribes (lack of women as owned property being a huge factor) that will cause, in the long run, less aggressive tribes to be enslaved and integrated into the more aggressive tribes.

In devs words:

<(Design in Progress) Matriarchal Society

<Historically, and even today, it exists.

<Historically, it can only exist in environments with less intense competition. For example, certain relatively isolated mountainous areas, plateaus, etc.

<In the game, we are considering granting unique cultures, diplomacy, victory methods, etc., to maintain playability balance.

<The merits and drawbacks of patriarchal and matriarchal societies, and how human history has evolved—

<questions of fairness and reason have long been studied and discussed in these books. The references I’ve already listed in the announcement.

<The game only references these works, and primarily sets mechanics and values based on playability and balance.

<Due to differences in muscle mass and the biological cost of reproduction, women's capacity for violence is relatively lower.

<This helps explain why, in high-pressure war environments, women would rely on men.

<Therefore, this is an important prerequisite for the emergence of "patriarchal society."

Is the game any good? The reviews on steam make it out like the dev is a bit insane

This is not going to translate well into the game. A flaw virtually all strategy games which attempt to simulate real societies share, you dont have a tribe/nation/state composed out of individual humans, but a hive ruled by the player as an overmind.

>(Design in Progress) Matriarchal Society

>Historically, and even today, it exists.
That is wrong though, there arent and never were any matriarchal societies. Matrilineal, not matriarchal.

>Is the game any good?
Its a nice civilization / city building sim with class society focus. The game is still in early access but its updated regularly.
>The reviews on steam make it out like the dev is a bit insane.
The devs are Chinese, very polite and use Engels as source material for game design. Some users are mad thats its not a berry picking simulator anymore without clear goals as the game has been updates alot from the original version.

>you dont have a tribe/nation/state composed out of individual humans, but a hive ruled by the player as an overmind.
The tribesmen move independently after telling what task their specific trade will perform. They make love and babies without me doing anything.
Still I spend a lot of time tweaking whats important and what isnt so the village runs smoothly.
>That is wrong though, there arent and never were any matriarchal societies. Matrilineal, not matriarchal.
Wrong.

>>44844
I am not talking about degree of micromanagement, but that individual NPCs are not independent agents seeking their own goals, merely drones under players control. Meaning all the "social" interactions happen between tribes, but never within them, which obviously bends the historical simulation. Its like how in Victoria 2 everybody plays as a communist by default, and why Victoria 3 gave up on implementing any sort of non-player commanded economy, because the player isnt anything that would exist in real society, you arent the ruler of a nation, but nation itself.

>Wrong.

Give me example

Oh I thought this game was a civ builder where you are all real people trying to make a tribe work

>>44846
>Give me an example.
1. Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy)
2. Akan kingdoms (Ghana) – especially Asante
3. Minangkabau (Sumatra, Indonesia)
4. Khasi (Meghalaya, India)
5. Hopi (Arizona, USA)
6. Mosuo / Na (Yongning, China)
7. Bribri (Costa Rica)
8. Nagovisi (Bougainville, Papua New Guinea)
>inb4 not real matriarchy has never been tried

stuck at a 19th century understanding of early history

>>44984
None of these are matriarchal in a sense as an counterpart of patriarchy, merely societies where power is shared between men and women.
