It was a nice idea but like everything I think it has gotten a bit 'overripe' with growth/exposure, it's not really an exciting niche thing with new ideas like it was way back when, nowadays it would be hard to come up with an SCP that wasn't derivative of something else on there, silly as it might seem I think all the good ones have probably already been written.
Some of the games are fun but I dislike how they all rely on the 'jumpscare' factor, SCP thrives more on the slightly more psychological horror IMO, but I guess it's hard to make a game based around that.

What disappoints me about the current state of SCP is that 90% of it is completely fictional. Like back when this started it was usually based on strange images and urban myths that were embellished. Now its just whatever weird shit someone makes up, even without an image, and a bunch of it was taken by furries too.
This is why I prefer /x/ shit and urban myths for material to compile. Things like the Chupacabra or the Mothman or the Slender Man or the Kuchisake-Onna or even Cthulhu is a lot more compelling since there are limitations for their indexes. In lieu of that I suggest we expand this thread to include urban myths as well as SCP.

SCP is really cool and probably my favourite fictional universe. The basic idea ("secret organisation hiding paranormal stuff from normie society") isn't new, but the lore surrounding it is brilliant and more imaginative than the vast majority of commercially-produced media.
That being said, the wiki is sadly full of woke narcissist authors who obsess over upvotes rather than writing for its own sake. The newer articles in particular are plagued by the wiki's "elite" circle of power authors trying to one-up each other by writing increasingly convoluted and long pseudo-deep SCPs.
There definitely is a place for longer and more complex narratives within the SCP universe, but there is also something to be said about the relative simplicity that defined the earlier generations.
Of course, with 6000+ articles, you run out of simple Series I-style "things that do a thing" eventually. A mix of simpler and more complex SCPs would be ideal, but that is not what our wiki overlords are giving us.
With SCP entering mainstream Internet culture, there has also been a sharp uptick in dumb children within the community, particularly on places like Reddit and Youtube. The wiki proper has a moderately well-enforced age limit, but the offsite community is absolutely overrun with retarded 12 year-olds.
In my opinion the SCP community needs a bunch of fresh authors with new ideas and a genuine passion for creative writing, as opposed to the retarded popularity contest circlejerking going on with the wiki's current power authors.

Journal Extract from junior researcher Dr Sandra Walker, regarding experiment PA19-B involving SCP-745.
Dr Benici, head researcher of Project Hamster Wheel, a project which aimed to utilise the anatomy of SCP-745 to generate electrical energy through kinetic harnessing.
In short, he wanted to put them on a wheel and use them as a dynamo to produce energy.
There were two instances of 745, 745-T and 745-B, affectionately named ‘Twitch’ and ‘Bolt’.
745-T was given its name for its inability to remain still, as its body would constantly be twitching and subtly vibrating while not in direct motion.
745-B was documented producing speeds well over the 180kph which 745 are known for averaging.
The issues arose when during testing 745-B collapsed, Dr Benici had them removed from the testing area and sent for medical evaluation. Not wanting to leave the heart and soul of his experiment he left me to look after 745-T to prevent them from succumbing to harm as well.
While in my care 745-T was safe and largely calm. Instances of 745 are known for developing separation anxiety when they are removed from the company of their respective partner.
One cure to this anxiety is to have a familiar presence or entity keep them occupied until they are reunited. So, I sat with 745-T within the experimentation room to keep them company.

To my surprise however, I noticed that the member went through a cycle of luminescence, starting off with its dullest state before transitioning to a brighter state. Constantly repeating.
Moving my hand from the sensitive spot, I gripped the member and slid my fingers up and down it to stimulate it further. Straight away I could feel the vibrating and the pulsating that the member was exhibiting.
