it's clearly the consumer that's the problem. The management are aghast at how the public treats their workers. How could you expect somebody to work for free? Servers need tips to survive, not tipping them at least 100% is the financial equivalent of murder. It should come with jail time, because at least with real murder the victim doesn't suffer for a long time. Anybody tipping less than 120% is a monster.

If you think in term of "consumers" and not in term of "B2B" (business to business) you are a peasant.

Tips are to encourage and give the average person a critique of emotional labor. Treat me like your boss, or get a job at an insult resturant where the attention is negative. The cafeteria is inferior psychologically because it lacks the element of democratized aristocracy and imminent critique and the personal attention from a literal servant. Nice to see we are still rehashing the Will there be Resturants under Socialism debate.

even after full Communism has been achieved, and every farmer, chef, and waiter is a robot, Americans will still want to leave tips.

eating uncooked food and you are 1000% prole

For real? Each person is supposed to pay tip? Do people really do this ? Ten bucks sounds about what's right not 37$.

consumer politics involve multiple classes so they have absolutely nothing to do with communism lol. its not a coincidence almost everyone who works for tips is the biggest dog eat dog piece of shit around

First time I am ever hearing about tipping per person.
It's customary to do between 15% and 20% (of the whole bill) in a restaurant. Some places include gratuity automatically if your group (or bill) is over a certain number. No bitch you aren't getting 10 from everyone.

It's funny working as a gig delivery driver how many of these people tip nothing or like $1, $2, $3. and I'm working for this single customer for 25 minutes to 45 minutes straight yet somehow counter service motherfuckers expect tips. Even these waitresses. The amount of actual time they're working for a single table in the time the customer is there is probably like 10-15 minutes total.

It's like wow, you moved the food 20 feet from the kitchen to the table. Nevermind getting to the person's residence, then you have to search through some giant labyrinth of apartments, go through 3 security doors, just to leave the treats at their doorstep.

It's because the service is only a minute long - you showing up at my house ans handing me my food. At a resturant, I am being checked on, I can send things back, ask questions, and so on. I admit your job is more dangerous, laborious, and worthy of respect as a proletarian position, but you aren't getting tips because you don't serve, you deliver.

>>2077
You do more work than the postal office lol, a lot of them here are arab immigrants and if they see stairs, they immediately put a notice in the letterbox that the customer wasn't here and fuck off back to the office with the package, they don't give a fuck.
And for amazon deliveries you better believe you're the one that has to go meet them.

>>2079
Yeah sad how the scabs act. You can really just berate these guys and they won't do shit lol. Call them names, insult them, go hard at them lol. I don't use delivery slaves, so I feel secure doing this. If you need their labor then it might be another story.

>but you aren't getting tips because you don't serve, you deliver.
These fuckers try to get you to. They can send you texts in the middle of the job asking you to do things. Some family ordered like a dozen burgers from McDonalds and they were like:
>Can you make sure they aren't missing anything in the order? Last time they forgot a burger.
Despite the fact that McDicks gives the orders in tamper proof seals. I ain't opening it, I'm not going to ask the McDicks employees:
>Uhhhh, did you remember everything? As they hand me the sealed bag.
Either it's in the bag or not chief, at least when it comes to McDicks.

But you're right tho, that is one of the perks of the job is not having to interact with the customers usually. Well what about customer service workers? How come the guys at the customer service desk, or the hardware store employees and etc., how come they don't get tips?

I think waiters and waitresses manage to get tips because they've managed to get everyone to believe they're going to spit in your food. Delivery people could to, but they don't even tell you how much they tipped until after the trip(they give you a combined offer of base compensation from the app+tip.) But then again, servers can't spit in your food after the check comes and you don't tip. I guess people fear they will return to the same restaurant and get their food spat in whereas the deliveroo driver will never see them again.

If tip is mandatory then why is it not already in the bill? For the dumbest country in the world US sure loves doing math after dinner and a few drinks.

the lack of a labour movement in the restoration industry is the clear problem, or rather, the conditions for such an absence

working with food is like the most defining human social activity, its only a hellscape now because of capitalist alienation
>NIMBY
the Zionist "Abundance" guys demand their serfs make them treats

The image presents a false dichotomy. Preparing food has been a social activity for most of human history and neither did it depend on the concept of dining, nor the conspicuous consumption of hobby cooks.

Left girl has an A on her name, thus an anarchist, thus a liberal, thus no opinion she has will ever be worthy of hearing
Right guy is correct, it is just way more efficient, home cooking is petty booj

>if you can't tip your server, don't eat out
what if you tipped your server by eating her out
