What should I be doing to get into IT?
I was thinking:
>get a helpdesk job with my experience from helping out my family as an IT contractor
>get a+ and network+ CompTIA certifications
>get RHCSA certification
>pray to engles I get past the interview process for sysadmin job somewhere
What I'm really wondering is, is certification stacking worth it, or should I just look into climbing the corporate ladder?
Sysadmins require 5 years of experience. Try your best to get A+ and Desktop Support. I have been unemployed for more than half a year and I have several certificates. Cloud, Security, A+. I have a major and a minor in different computer related fields. I am still unemployed.
It is brutal out there. Concert every job question into a password manager entry so you can copy and paste faster. Use folders to group it all.
