I find it funny that people in the US seem to believe that "white" is a natural definition, rather than a man made one, and one that is universal.
Not even in Europe the so called whites understand themselves as primarily part of a generic and broad white group. Of course this colonial notion spread worldwide but still, a pole is a pole and a portuguese is a portuguese.
