Isn't this what they wanted? All those family planning and birth control campaigns from the 70s, when LatAm population growth was at its height. It's not like having a family or a home has gotten easier, either.

People had a lot of children because most of them died in infancy. Then from 60-80 they had a lot of children and all of them survived thanks to vaccines and prenatal care, so the next generations have less kids. The demographic boom of the XXth century won't repeat itself, the real demographic problem is not that people aren't having more kids, is that old people are taking too long too die. I also think the anti teen pregnancy campaign was misguided, instead of making both boys and girls be more responsible they just convinced a whole generations that babies are demons and the good thing in life is to have funkopops.

Half of the kids born here in Argentina dont recieve enough nutrition, they will grow up to be mental retards with weak bodies.
Id rather have a country with low fertility rate where kids are treated well and are cared for than what we have today.
