GREATEST POPE IN DA WORLD!

So, this is basic confirmation that the Vatican believes America is in decline? They apparently have some policy of not electing popes from superpower states.
<Trump's appointee to the White House Commission on Religious Liberty said this the other day:

>Cardinal George of Chicago, of happy memory, was one of my great mentors, and he said: 'Look, until America goes into political decline, there won't be an American pope.' And his point was, if America is kind of running the world politically, culturally, economically, they don't want America running the world religiously. So, I think there's some truth to that, that we're such a superpower and so dominant, they don't wanna give us, also, control over the church.

I will take this guy's word he says the new pope is open minded and he loves him being picked. He is a huge advocate for LGBT people the one saying this

I am not going to depend on some 2012 quote

If you are not religious, the way I see it you should forget the moral views of the Pontiff.
The Holy See is a sovereign state, and a very diplomatic one that uses its position to try and involve itself in diplomatic affairs. Pay attention to that, because to be fair under Francis the Holy See was quite supportive of the oppressed and was not biased by western interests.

The pedophile allegations are made up by a far right Peruvian tabloid.

How to explain the seeming fracturing of the Church? Simple. Engels wrote about reactionary peoples. Lenin wrote about imperialism. The synthesis of this: so-called Western 'tradcaths' are in fact the right-wing of the Church. Reactionary wing, even, as they are willing to do away with the Pope's authority for their own goals. The Church, if it has any self-preservation instinct, ought to excommunicate and ban these thugs of fascism, else they will destroy the Church from within.

Why do leftypolers hate Catholicism, but love Islam? Christianity is the most progressive of the Abrahamic religions, because it is proto-socialist. And it is also the most socially liberal (Judaism doesn't count, because real Orthodox Jews, the ones recognized by Israel, would make a Salafi blush), and amenable to change. There's not Jewish or Islamic equivalent to liberation theology. Also, their costumes are just as badass as communist uniforms.

you seem to think I'm defending religion as being not reactionary. I'm just telling you they change over time. Not necessarily for the better or the worse. This is incredibly obvious if you studied religion even a little bit.
>they hold onto the same book forever
yeah but they barely pay attention to that. religions are practice first belief second. to stop the muslim countries from secularizing the way the christian countries did, western countries had to arm and back salafists and wahabists all through the 20th century. as for their books… like even those aren't permanent. there's constant debates over translation, interpretation. some books are considered "apocrypha." some books are added and removed depending on the sect. The books of the old testament themselves weren't written all at once, they were compiled over centuries during the iron age and there was a lot of infighting in judaism over which books should even be canon in the old testament. all abrahamic religions also have mystic offshoots like gnosticism, kaballah, sufism, etc. Like just study religion a little, not even as a devotee and you'd see they're constantly changing. this isn't a defense of religion, I'm telling you to understand your enemy.

It's as I said in another thread:
/leftypol/ once again debates if a mildly progressive liberal by burger standard is worth simping for, while simultaneously having to reconcile their hatred for liberals who share 99% of their beliefs with said liberal

>Liberals at the head of reactionary institutions: Human face of a monstrous system, impotent at best and future fascists at worst

<Liberals at the head of a reactionary institution, but they have a funny hat: Misunderstood sympathetic visionaries, practically socialists that we need to change our framework for

>New pope is even more left-wing than Francis was
Leftists are a bigger enemy of communism than fascists I fucking swear.

Personally I dont really care if the Pope is "progressive" or not, either way the Vatican will burn along with the other RHP faiths in the revolution. I'm just taking amusement in how MAGA Catholics got a helluvah monkey's paw with this guy and are absolutely seething about it, might even lead to a schism where America officially refuses to recognize Leo XIV as the legitimate Pope like it's the fuckin 13th century. That is objectively hilarious and if Leo XIV can bring that about then all the better

Leftoid means people who bastardize left wing politics.

he named himself after pope leo who was a champion of the poor and critical of both socialism and laissez faire capitalism. But americans are judging him on the american political binary of republican or democrat. Catholicism existed for centuries before capitlism was even a thing, makes you think

it's bourgeois because it's been integrated into the bourgeois order and has been for a long time

>>2259931
But they literally are bourgeois. They were landlords and have now moved into finance capital like the rest of the surviving royal lineages.

>The Vatican has big investments in banking, insurance, chemicals, steel, construction, real estate. Dividends help pay for Vatican expenses and charities such as assisting 1,500,000 children and providing some measure of food and clothing to 7,000,000 needy Italians.

Its a word play on rightoid fixation with different races like europoid, alpinoid, syrioid, etc.

>>2259937
Everything has been integrated into the bourgeois order.
The really existing communist movement is bourgeois by that metric.

>>2259956
>The really existing communist movement
what do you even mean by this, do you mean the real movement? but anyway the point is simple, the vatican are bourgeois because they sit amongst it rather than against it, the vatican has been thoroughly bourgeois since vatican II and were already integrating since late 19th century

They apologized for residential schools, but part of the issue is that the doctrine of papal infallibility extends to the actions of previous popes. Under canon law renouncing previous papal bulls and such is actually somewhat difficult because of this doctrine. Idk how the separation of powers and such works within the Church or whether such a renunciation could be nullified as a violation of doctrine or something. However they sort of have to twist themselves into knots to denounce previous policies without undermining a core tenet of Catholicism.

>>2260055

>WASHINGTON (CNS) – Two popes and multiple priests, cardinals and archbishops received part of $600,000 in financial gifts from former Washington Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick, who controlled a discretionary fund, according to a report published Dec. 27 by The Washington Post.

>The newspaper said that, through interviews and access to financial records, it determined that over a period of two decades, McCarrick drew on the "Archbishop's Special Fund" account set up at the Archdiocese of Washington, where he was the archbishop from 2001 until 2006. Though the majority of the $6 million the fund raised in almost two decades went to charities, many priests and more than 60 cardinals and archbishops benefited from it, the newspaper reported.

>"Several of the more than 100 recipients were directly involved in assessing misconduct claims against McCarrick, documents and interviews show," the Post story said.

>During that time, McCarrick sent $90,000 to Pope John Paul II and $291,000 to Pope Benedict XVI from the account, which the newspaper describes as having little oversight and having amassed donations from influential donors, including President Donald Trump's sister, Maryanne Trump Barry; novelist Mary Higgins Clark; John B. Hess, chief executive the Hess Corp. oil company; and a foundation run by Francis Rooney, politician and former U.S. Ambassador to Vatican.

Communists and communism as it exists now, not the abstract ideal of communism. We have not created a new system, so we are very much inside and integrated into the bourgeois system.

>>2261085
all of them are nominally communist, and i agree that they do influence the bourgeois order, but i don't really care about them because they are ultimately tertiary, a communist movement has to struggle against that bourgeois order, and it certainly isn't any of those ones
