Pointing out that two bad things are different doesn't mean you are excusing them. The things Epstein did would also be criminal to do to adults, which is another different type of crime. Scrambling up all these things into one vague label isn't particularly useful, and it attracts hysterical people who seek to expand the term even further, to include queer people for instance.
