That's how they have been "winning," and that's their current plan. This February past James Carville published some op ed in NYT about how the Dems can't do anything to stop Trump, so they shouldn't [
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/25/opinion/democrats-trump-congress.html]. Just lie down and "play dead" until voters get fed up with the Republicans and have no choice BUT to vote for them out of desperation.
One of the problems with this though is that it fundamentally misapprehends who their adversary is and what to do about it. They might win the battle of the next election this way, but they're already on their way of losing the war of getting, using, and keeping political power.
I think what we're seeing now is the emergence of a new class of bourgeoisie that are not only ultra wealthy, but possess or otherwise monopolize control over industries that are both too big to fail and too massive to reform. Worse still, this section of the haute bourgeoisie is ideologically motivated by total disdain for the bourgeois political system and democracy as we've known it.
Trump is just the face of an effort to radically transform not only the government, but the entire political structure of the US, and consolidate power in corporate, CEO hands. If the Democrats are even aware of it at all, they have no ideological or political answer for it. Even if they do "win" subsequent elections, it's doubtful they'll actually do anything to reverse what Trump has done because the net effect is going to be "pro business" and the bourgeoisie as a whole aren't going to reverse the trend of increasing their corporate power even if the end result is their collective subordination to a new class of ultra wealthy billionaires. Ultimately there's nothing they can do to stop it because it isn't a result of the political system, but the economic one they relentlessly safeguard. Musk, Thiel, Bezos, and these other billionaires are just going to keep getting richer and more powerful, so it doesn't matter if their monkeys get voted out in this election when they can just count on buying the next one, and that the Democrats won't do anything to stop them in the meanwhile. Shit, that's what go us here, now. The Democrats knew full well what Trump intended on doing, and instead of taking any steps to head him off at the pass, they just ran the latest in a series of the worst candidates in history and lost.
If you ask me, the Democrats have already lost. They just don't know it yet.

That this bombshell broke today, at the exact moment that their Zionist billionaires are fighting, means they want to hide it from western populations at the exact moment that these populations finally start to get sick of the genocide.
>NOTICEABLE >>2299478it feels like overly optimistic copium to say this but I think if an organized left doesn't emerge from this to marshal the proletarian discontent into something that can seize power, conditions will continue to worsen to the point that we start seeing something like French Revolution conditions where the masses are pushed to the limit of having no choice but to start rising up spontaneously. I think that the moment for reaction to step in isn't just passing but that we've been living through it for decades now and that Trump's second term will be seen as the desperate final gasps of a dying empire that up until now had been successfully balancing global imperialism and internal colonialism for decades in ways that are similar to fascism but without the mass organizing of classical fascism that the Nazis and Italian Fascists did. AmeriKKKan fascism has had a more stochastic quality to it of making everyone atomised and disengaged unless its to act out in petty bourgeois ways like the Tea Party did or otherwise in the form of random mass shootings
like no one really talks about how normalized it's been for a very long time now for almost all Americans to be repressed with varying levels of acuteness, and the fascist false consciousness has been a force in US politics for decades that has absolutely failed to provide anything for even like the American equivalent of Aryans (white Christians) like Nazi Germany did

WIN SUCH IS THE TRADITION OF ALL PAST AMERICAN COMMUNISTS AND ANARCHISTS
>>2299485I think the big break is going to come when there's a disaster so large that the expenses in correcting it are going to cause the government to just write it off. We've already got a taste of it with Helene, but eventually some superstorm is going to hit Miami, or New Orleans, or some other major gulf city, or else the Colorado is going to run dry and the message will simply be "you're on your own."
At that point one of two things is going to happen. Either the city or region really will be abandoned by the federal government for all intents and purposes, in which case people really will be left to their own devices, or they'll declare it a "special entrepreneurial opportunity" and it'll become the personal fiefdom of some ultra wealthy neo aristocrat.
Neither of which are great outcomes. Right now the only ones that are organized beyond most city limits are either the KKK or churches which might as well be the KKK.
>>2299495Trump has been doing everything possible to get young chuds in the government, Vance himself wasn't even old enough to be VP back in 2016. When Trump kicks the bucket, or simply leaves office 4 years from now, the Republican Party, Executive Branch, and Judiciary will all be full of 30-year-old Trumptards to carry his legacy for another 50 years.
And the idea that Democrats would do anything to Musk is just sad.
>>2299501What level of institutional collapse is needed in America to make this happen
https://archive.org/details/the-take-2004?
>>2299515>In suburban Buenos Aires, thirty unemployed auto-parts workers walk into their idle factory, roll out sleeping mats and refuse to leave. All they want is to re-start the silent machines. This simple act - the take - has the power to turn the globalisation debate on its head. Armed only with slingshots and an abiding faith in shop-floor democracy, the workers face off against the bosses, bankers and a whole system that sees their beloved factories as nothing more than scrap metal for sale. With The Take, director Avi Lewis, one of Canada's most outspoken journalists, and writer Naomi Klein, author of the international bestseller No Logo, champion a radical economic manifesto for the 21st century. It would take a pretty severe collapse for this to happen, not only to make it possible but to create the ideological conditions to precipitate it. I think for most people the response would be to pick up and move if possible. Not only that, but it's hard to imagine the government not also violently enforcing property rights except under the most extreme circumstances, even if they've otherwise written off a region. Or if not violently enforcing property rights, just strangling the effort with sanctions. Owning the factory wouldn't do much good if you can't utilize the capital to make it function.

>>2299619>Well I am still right. No, you're not. Ngos are a significant employer of, and let me emphasize, ONE OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY'S PRIMARY BASES. That is, credentialed professionals, "experts," people with degrees, otherwise known as "the professional-managerial class."
https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2024/02/identity-and-the-professional-managerial-class.html
>We define the Professional-Managerial Class as consisting of salaried mental workers who do not own the means of production and whose major function in the social division of labor may be described broadly as the reproduction of capitalist culture and capitalist class relations.
>Their role in the process of reproduction may be more or less explicit, as with workers who are directly concerned with social control or with the production and propagation of ideology (e.g., teachers, social workers, psychologists, entertainers, writers of advertising copy and TV scripts, etc.). Or it may be hidden within the process of production, as is the case with the middle-level administrators and managers, engineers, and other technical workers whose functions, as [Andre] Gorz, Steve Marglin, Harry Braverman and others have argued, are essentially determined by the need to preserve capitalist relations of production. Thus we assert that these occupational groups – cultural workers, managers, engineers and scientists, etc. – share a common function in the broad social division of labor and a common relation to the economic foundations of society. You could say that they're the professional servants of the Democrat party and they're the ones that they turn to in order to execute their political will. All the "thinkers" had develop and enact political policy work at NGOs or Think Tanks or for research institutions like Harvard or whatever. The money for all these non-productive ventures comes largely from the government, and while money from USAID or the National Endowment for Democracy goes overseas, a lot of that money ends up coming back in some shape or form, or otherwise interface with domestic counterparts.
So cutting off that money is tantamount to kicking a lot of these professionals out on the street, and it's a serious threat to the Democrats as a party because that base is fundamental to its operations as a party.
It doesn't matter that usaid doesn't employ "most Americans" because "most Americans" are irrelevant to the Democrats as a party.
And I guess since I'm here:

>>2299436>you realise syndicalism cannot work anymore in this country rightWhy? The resurgence of the union is already upon us. Strike actions take place across the country every day. Support for unions is the highest since the 1960s. Largescale strikes involving thousands of workers have reappeared since the plateau of the Reagan-era. Striketober in 2021 was arguably the first general strike in the US since the 1940s.
I'd also like to know what you propose as an alternative to replace Syndicalism, given that Syndicalism is the only Revolutionary Socialist ideology that has aroused significant support from the American proletariat and actually achieved anything resembling the beginnings of a revolution in this country. Surely not CPUSA-style party-politics, which even in the most suitable conditions failed to appeal to the sentiments of American workers even a modicum, and led the Socialist movement Syndicalism had built up to that point into the ruin we find ourselves in today.
>>2299436This cold war seems to be different. The EU and the USA, rather than offer concessions after crises, seem to double down on neoliberalism. IMO this happens because they still need to compete in liberalism with China rather than point at the threat of dispossession by the communist boogeyman. The west is forced to drive up exploitation and the promise of more to keep business. Globalization is working against the west now.
A labor movement that denies that profit would surely lead to harsh repression once it becomes an actual threat, and then revolution.
>>2299764less than 10% of americans are in unions and it would take longer than we have to not only build them up, but do so outside the AFL-CIO, which is constitutionally an economist and class collaborationist union coalition. you do not have the numbers and union membership is STILL going down.
syndicalism has not only failed at the critical juncture to transition from a union into an army, but it also would require generations of work to get anywhere, which climate change means we do not have.
you waffentwerps all act like we have infinite time when the reality is we have MAYBE 50 years before large sectors of earth are rendered permanently uninhabitable. in order to destroy this system and have any chance of starting a revolution, america MUST be destroyed, and it MUST be destroyed as soon as possible if we want to have any chance to live.
>>2299799>less than 10% of americans are in unionsYou say this as if 9.9% of the population is a small number.
>it would take longer than we have to not only build them up, but do so outside the AFL-CIOIf you don't think we can unionize a heavily receptive population even a little bit over the course of FIFTY years, then you essentially do not believe we can do anything. The situation you are describing, the vast disparity between pro-union and actually unionized workers, is in fact a perfect situation for revolutionary unions to step up and take advantage of.
>syndicalism has not only failed at the critical juncture to transition from a union into an armyThe brave union-militants at Blair Mountain composed a strong proletarian army under the eye of United Mine Workers of America, and I am sure such militarization of the class struggle would have continued if unions had remained at the helm of it.
>america MUST be destroyedGetting sick of your constant whining about destroying America while rejecting any way to advance toward that goal, climate-doomerism only makes you more annoying.
>>2299807lmao the workers at blair mountain got fucking crushed and the UMW lost the mine wars.
economist trade unions are a dead end and revolutionary trade unions do not exist. you couldn't do a blair mountain today if you tried, you can't even do a general strike, because that would be illegal and the unions have allowed themselves to be permanently handcuffed by a law that exists to eradicate them.

Two months after the Trump administration all but shut down its foreign news services in Asia, China is gaining significant ground in the information war, building toward a regional propaganda
Cutbacks at Radio Free Asia and other news outlets funded by the U.S. Agency for Global Media have allowed China to fill a programming void and expand the reach of its talking points, according to an analysis prepared for a USAGM grantee that, though based on publicly available data, was not authorized to be shared publicly.

The chance that he would give Biden credit for anything is basically zero, so why would he say Biden followed his policy?
What happened: Giani Singh, a Sikh Granthi from Southern New Jersey, delivered the House's morning prayer on Friday.
Rep. Miller responded later in the morning by incorrectly identifying Singh as a Muslim, saying it was "deeply troubling that a Muslim was allowed to lead prayer in the House of Representatives this morning."
"This should have never been allowed to happen. America was founded as a Christian nation, and I believe our government should reflect that truth, not drift further from it. May God have mercy," she added.
Miller quickly edited her post to change "Muslim" to "Sikh," before deleting it altogether minutes later.

This is War on Terror all over again. The government is giving free reign to TSA to fist your assholes and you people are here saying "umm do you know that SOME terrorists actually hide bombs in their anal cavity", that's not the goddamn point you retard
>>2300065>But Republicans have lost as well when Trump usurped their party. The dem-rep opposition is passé. The real opposition to Trump hasn't appeared yet.I agree for the most part. Ironically, it was the Republicans' more democratic party structure which allowed Trump to do it. But yeah, that's when we started seeing long time Republicans jump ship to Project Lincoln and the Dem party.
I think the actual resistance to Trump is going to coalesce over the course of this administration as pressure increases on the "middle class" of petty millionaire local gentry. As far as sources of untapped capital and revenue streams go, they're the last remaining source in America since
>subsidies from the US government are monopolized by corporations and billionaires <the working class is already tapped out due to low wages, no class mobility, debt, and rent of various kindsTrump harnessed the energy of the petite vs haute bourgeoisie in his first run on the side of the petite, but I think since then there's been a "vibe shift" among sections of the haute that are now backing Trump. I think by and large we're going to start seeing the same kinds of consolidation and conflict that we saw in the Barons wars of late medieval Europe.
U.N.’s Albanese has ‘blood on her hands,’ Rep. Sherman says
Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA), in a blistering statement, accused the U.N.’s special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, of antisemitism and said that her activity has undermined the United Nations and eroded U.S. support for the U.N. and foreign aid in general and will contribute to deaths around the world.
“Only for a demonstrated antisemite like Ms. Albanese could stabilizing Israel’s economy after the worst massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust be something negative,” Sherman said. “This is just the latest instance in Ms. Albanese’s long history of antisemitism – she has regularly used antisemitic terms like the ‘Jewish lobby’ and claims that Israel doesn’t have the right to defend itself or even to exist.”
“There’s a substantial amount of blood on her hands – but her victims live in countries that she doesn’t care about,” Sherman continued. “In fact, it seems the only thing she cares about is justifying attacks on Israel and Jews worldwide.”
“Believe that the anti-Israel movement means it when they say they want to eradicate Israel and will use any means to do it,” Sherman said. “Ms. Albanese condemns, and seeks to prevent, every effort of the Israeli government to feed and house its poorest citizens and care for the disabled. Due to her blinding rage of antisemitism, she seeks to hurt the most vulnerable.

Bannon said he had urged that Musk’s security clearance be pulled and his immigration status investigated.
“I spoke to Russ Vought," he said, referring to the head of the Office of Management and Budget. "Elon cannot continue to attack Trump and be a national security issue by being so unstable,” Bannon said.

>The Supreme Court on Friday allowed members of the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency to access Social Security Administration data. The conservative-majority court, with its three liberal justices objecting, granted an emergency application filed by the Trump administration asking the justices to lift an injunction issued by a federal judge in Maryland.
The unsigned order said that members of the DOGE team assigned to the Social Security Administration should have "access to the agency records in question in order for those members to do their work."

US lawmaker introduces motion calling ‘free Palestine’ chant anti-Semitic
Republican Congressman Gabe Evans has introduced a symbolic resolution that describes the chant “free Palestine” as an “anti-Semitic slogan that calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and the Jewish people”.
The resolution condemns the attack on a pro-Israel rally that injured 12 people in the US state of Colorado last week.
It is the latest measure seeking to crack down on support for Palestinian rights in the US.
Activists have long argued that the “free Palestine” chant is a call for Palestinian freedom from Israeli occupation and apartheid.

During President Biden’s last year in office, ICE averaged roughly 300 daily arrests, according to agency data.

The State Department is weighing giving $500 million to the new foundation providing aid to war-shattered Gaza, according to two knowledgeable sources and two former U.S. officials, a move that would involve the U.S. more deeply in a controversial aid effort that has been beset by violence and chaos.
The sources and former U.S. officials, all of whom requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, said that money for Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) would come from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which is being folded into the U.S. State Department.

The chief of the Justice Department’s criminal division in Nashville resigned over the decision to charge Kilmar Abrego Garcia, people briefed on the matter tell CNN.
The Justice Department’s push to pursue human trafficking charges against Abrego Garcia had caused some disagreement among prosecutors in the Nashville US attorney’s office, sources said.

In a letter obtained by CBS News, the institute's president, retired Air Force Gen. Norton "Norty" Schwartz, told staff he'd received a notice on Monday "terminating all IDA tasks" for the Pentagon's Office of the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation — known inside the Pentagon as DOT&E.
