🗽UNITED STATES POLITICS 🦅
<The Self Consoomer EditionThread for hellish discussion of the Dying Burger Reich:
Things are going to continue to happen in the stupidest ways possible that no one really takes seriously, where every single person compulsively reacts with either cynical grifting or useless panic and appealing to a political system of liberal democracy that is entirely dead and irrelevant. things will continue to get gradually worse, more people will lose their jobs and homes, the most destitute and marginalized will be oppressed by state-backed domestic terrorism, but the decay will simply continue and everyone who isn't actively being imprisoned and forced into slavery or outright exterminated will simply ignore it and maintain a cognitive dissonance of believing a civil war is happening while living their lives in a mostly normal fashion. The death of the United States will be slow, painful, and insufferably annoying and stupid.🏈 💵 🌭 🍔

What the fuck is wrong with democrats?
>Americans’ confidence in the mass media has sunk to a record low, with fewer than three in ten now trusting news outlets to report fairly, according to a new Gallup poll.
>A poll conducted in September of 1,000 adults showed that only 28% expressed a “great deal” or “fair amount” of trust in newspapers, television and radio, down from 31% last year, 40% five years ago, and almost 70% in the 1970s. Meanwhile, 36% reported “not very much” confidence and 34% said they had “none at all.”
>For the first time, confidence among Republicans has collapsed into single digits, with only 8% saying they trust the media. However, 51% of Democrats believed media reporting.

>>2507553What many people do not understand:
In Eastern European countries where there were significant anti-Bolshevik Nazi collaborators (Ukraine, Croatia, Hungary, Baltics), WW2 is understood as the Soviet ogre versus poor us. In that context, their collaborators (e.g Bandera) is THE good guy. They are hyper-focused on the happenings in THEIR country in WW2. They do not really give a shit what Rommel did in North Africa or what Hirohito was doing in the Far East. So all these Nazi paraphernalia are for them, symbols of their national heroes. You add to that the fact that the EU and NATO have been greatly vilifying the USSR and greatly rehabilitating these collaborators as 'freedom fighters', the current situation makes perfect sense.
There is also a great self-imposed blindness to the Nazi's disdain for their own people. For them, the Nazis were anti-Soviet, full stop. They do not want to face the fact that Nazis viewed Ukros as subhuman too. Poles would fall for the same trap, but the Nazis actually completede their 'project' there. Had the Nazis occupied Ukraine for a few more years, the Ukro would learn once for all that after the jew and the bolshevik, he is ending up in a ditch.

>>2507583Yup. Really really stupid and corny fascism, but fascism nonetheless. They've mastered the art of using their actual stupidity to cover for when they're merely obfuscating stupidity to catch people off guard, which is the particularly insidious part of all of this. >>2507664nta but this is one of the neologisms i do actually strongly agree with. "child porn" suggests theres some basic continuity with pornography of adults. "child sexual assault material" emphasizes that the only way this shit is produced is through sexual assault of children.
unlike other new phrasing and terms liberals come up with, which usually soften and obscure things, this one not only appropriately emphasizes the harsh reality, it actually points towards the process of production involved
>>2507672I don't think I've ever seen people misusing CSAM as a term that way. They usually talk about "grooming" where you show material
to minors, which carries the implication that the material itself shouldn't necessarily be banned just not allowed in schools or something. Which is stupid but it's not what you're saying. I don't think I've ever heard of someone equating a diagram of a uterus with child porn.
>>2507672wat? CSAM has been being introduced as a replacement term synonymous with child porn, by groups specifically opposing child porn and the actual sexual abuse of children.
im sure its true that reactionaries are trying to muddy the waters as they always do. but the term CSAM is not their invention and is not used primarily for that reason
>>2507684>I don't think I've ever seen people misusing CSAM as a term that way. They usually talk about "grooming" where you show material to minors, which carries the implication that the material itself shouldn't necessarily be banned just not allowed in schools or something. Which is stupid but it's not what you're saying. I don't think I've ever heard of someone equating a diagram of a uterus with child porn. That's kind of what I'm driving at. A medical diagram isn't child porn, and if one were to try and call it that, most people would instantly think that person was insane.
The utility of "child sexual abuse material" as a term is that it does obscure what's being talked about by including cp with innocuous stuff like sex education material. The "grooming" hysteria is piggy backing off of that. What we see again and again is that reactionary groups use a real phenomenon like adults using the internet to take advantage of young people sexually, and conflating that with what they're really going after.
If you're talking about adults on the internet using various means to get lewd photos or engage in sex with minors, that's producing child pornography or rape or whatever. It's clear cut. But for reactionaries, CSAM is any material that exposes minors to sex outside of the very limited scope of things they approve, like the Bible or conservative hetero ideals.
So, a book that discusses gender identity? That's csam. A teacher discussing menarche in a clinical way? Csam. You've got these groups calling everything "grooming" which involves a minor coming into contact with information or media that they don't like.
And because of the conflation with cp and the csam umbrella term, when most people hear the latter they think the former and "think of the children" immediately kicks in.
>>2507685>wat? CSAM has been being introduced as a replacement term synonymous with child porn, by groups specifically opposing child porn and the actual sexual abuse of children.
>im sure its true that reactionaries are trying to muddy the waters as they always do. but the term CSAM is not their invention and is not used primarily for that reasonIf it's synonymous then why come up with some new term for it? I don't really buy the idea that it's to try and distinguish it from regular adult porn. Yeah, maybe these "groups specifically opposing child porn" are in earnest, but that's not what I'm seeing it being used for. If they're going after cp, there's no need to call it anything else or give it some special term. Without knowing what groups you're talking about specifically my first assumption is that at best it's another example of honest emotions being used towards dishonest ends.
And not to be rude but that's all I'm going to say about it here because we don't need another thread derailed like isg.

The Battle Over Civil Society
<An interview with Dylan J. Riley on Trump and the state of American democracy
>Over the past decade, there’s been an intense, often bitter debate on the left over whether fascism is the correct framework to understand Donald Trump and his movement. I’ve been a fervent partisan for the position that Trumpism is a variant of fascism. Dylan J. Riley, a professor of sociology at Berkeley, has been a skeptic, writing that Trump differs in several important ways from the classic European examples of fascism. But I always found his work, drawing on Alexis de Tocqueville, Karl Marx, and Antonio Gramsci, to be rigorous and historically specific, and read it with great interest. I also believed that if read differently, it supported my side of the debate.
>Over the past several months, Riley and I have corresponded and discussed collaborating. In this conversation, we decided to compare notes on the state of American democracy and civil society. >>2507718That's what I said and she brushed it aside and instead complained about how much she pays for insurance and doesn't want to pay for illegal immigrant welfare or transgender people getting surgery.
>>2507709lmao
>>2507726When I initially asked for a source she sent me a politician talking on Newsmax. They don't care about reality, they only care about spiting others. This is exactly what she said to me when I said I'm not trusting a Newsmax clip as a credible source. I also pointed out that he spent half of the clip calling Democrats Marxists when that's just hilariously a lie.
"My point:
Medicare is drained because of the illegals.
Somebody has to pay the bill ….
What if people stop working?
Who’s gonna pay the bill?
Do you really think it’s fair to work your butt off your whole life, only to have the money they took from your Social Security and Medicare withholding tax, which was your money to begin with, and it’s gone because they gave it to illegal aliens? Now that we’re retired…. I resent it.
Now… I’d like you to watch that whole thing. I know you have time to do so.
Put aside the name calling and the fact that you do not like Johnson…
And just listen to the what he has to say about what happened.
Just because somebody calls someone names, doesn’t mean they’re not telling the truth.
I’m gonna be very disappointed if you do not watch this, because you THINK he made-up
this stuff, before you even listened to him. You’re just believing the other side with no proof.
You asked me to show you proof…he has proof. Anyone who claims illegals wasn’t getting free healthcare
are the big liars.
They’re Millions of illegals in this country…do you think they never get hurt, sick, go to the hospital or have babies? It’s called common sense.
Who paid for that?
It has nothing to do with Democrats and Republicans.
I thought you were more opened minded.
Maybe I was wrong."
>>2507720>in which Hamas will participate and contribute with full responsibilitythat's how they will worm their way out
Both Netanyahu and Trump will use this as 'evidence' that Hamas 'rejected' the peace plan (as Hamas will not turn themselves in and disband etc)
Trump can then say that he did everything but the stupid and evil Hamas did not want peace
https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115310630808491399https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115312181572421839Hamas surrenders, Gaza will be an anglo colony once more. Rejoice all whose governments back Trump's plan (the entire world including BRICS). Trump will get the Nobel peace prize for this btw.
Hooray for "multipolarity"!
>>2507808That's just the slop that Zios put out to play the victims, always. The Trump plan eventually settles on that noncommittal "technocratic" governance as well. After the supposed Trump/Blair colony period. It's all irrelevant anyway, power grows from violence and accepting any part of the plan forfeits violence.
Hamas is just wording their surrender like the compradors do,pretending it's not a complete capitulation to Washington. Which, fair enough. I mean they are getting exterminated to the last man woman and child and pretty much the entire world has, for one reason or another, accepted the legitimacy of this, the impunity of Israel and the continuation of the Nakba 2 in the form of the Trump plan.
So really, they don't have much choice. The entire world came out two days ago and said they are okay with it, implyng that there won't be any consequences if the genocide continues or if they go back to a slower pace of settler colonialism.
What is Hamas (and the other factions of armed Palestinian resistance) supposed to do here? Watch as literally the entire world nods along with the industrial extermination of every man woman and child in Gaza?
>>2507811>>2507813You are gonna
love all the
Hareetzand other liberal Zios articles' playing victim. While Gaza gets settled by Jewish Israelis.
Just think of this moment when, after the Nobe Peace Price is announced for Trump this 10th of October, Israel alters the deal and does whatever the fuck it wants while still playing the victim and organizing Jewish-only land sales of Gaza.
But be ready to say and do nothing about it, because another flotilla will be there to absorb all that outrage and prevent it from evere reasching the internal politics of the genocider accomplice states. Go go Greta!
>>2507824The DHS came to be from 9/11 and the patriot act, it makes sense for it to be an inherently fascist organization, same as ICE.It is proper ironic though, that while the Dems are rehabilitating Dubya
the man, the Republicans are the ones re-implementing Dubya's
policies.
It highlights, IMO, how the perceived differences in the bipartisan system is just an illusion of being two buckets, on which the USAno policy gets distributed.
>>2507837My money is on some Democrat version of Bush Jr. promising to tackle all the bipartisan points of the cold war and domestic stability(while keeping most of the Trump policy, under different names and guises).
Maybe it *is* her turn. Either way, the cold war will only demand more neoliberalism to make line go up despite the fraying of US hegemony abroad and more militarism to uphold the rest of it. So even the dove-est Democrat will be held to those standards.
>>2507814>Not the entire world, The Axis of Goodness (Russia, China, Belarus, North Korea, Venezuela) is on their side.China and Russia will uphold, after their bribes are confirmed, the eventual UNSC resolution that makes the Trump plan official.
Where will you run then? That was a ruse as well?
