What were you like before you became a lefty/socialist?
Ah, I remember before I adhered to socialism, I was, and may yaldabeoh forgive me for uttering this, a libertarian.
I know many adopted socialism extremely early, that was not the case for me as I was almost always a libertarian, but I never really aligned myself with rightoids, neither did I align with other lefties, I was a sort of centrist, or in better words, a pussy fence sitter thinking I had attained true enlightenment by thinking that "both sides is… LE BAD". The process of me turning into a lefty was an extremely slow one, but it was always because rightoids seemed like retards, and I noticed most problems can easily be traced back to them. All things changed of course when I saw the complete right wing degeneracy under trump, the failings of the economy and eventually getting to read theory…
So were you always sort of Socialist? Or did you gradually shift to it? What were you like before being a left?
i used to be a nazi pedophile but then i discovered socialism and now i'm just like you guys
Ive always been economically left wing and have always thought capitalism is retarded
But i also used to be socially conservative
A child. incapable of thought.
Was a total idealist neoplatonist
Just a run of the mill eurolib
an ancap
>What were you like before you became a lefty/socialist?
Voted for a green party (socdem) on my first election. Wasn't even an environmentalist, their policies just made sense and were pro-social.
I made hitler memes and shit but I that's because I thought it was ridiculous. My parents and family weren't (overtly) racist and were pro-multiculturalism, each a mix of conservative and progressive liberalism despite both voting center right. So I ended up leaning progressive, and when I got a job and america did a bernie 2020, I soon discovered and moved into (actual) socialist circles.
This shit has always made sense to me, just discovering it was the hard part. I was raised in a 'socialism is when everyone is paid the same' ignorant household, school didn't touch the topic at all.
Mostly hung out on hippy-ish communes, tbh i might go back to that. Society sucks qnd there is no saving it anymore. Might as well get high and farm
>>2527727Nationalist as it was the status quo ideology in my country when I was a young teenager.
I was a centrist, now I'm economillly leftist but still I harbor some deeply conservatite ideas on the cultura spheres, I don't like that leftist movent is full of junkies, pot head, depraved people dreaming of making their fetish mainstream and other people more procupied with having society accepting their bizzar mentall illness than actually changing the economy and destryoing capitalism
I was born an anprim, but I discovered the benefits of industrial society at the young age of eight, and logically became a Marxist.
I'm still an ancap but I agree more and more with commies.
The path of the light is not in straight line. I was born a democrat, like CPUSA Anon, but became fake socialist marxist-bidenist because ameriKKKans dont have left party. In this phase i thought trotsky was good and stalin was bad. Biden made real wages fall and i was working in factories so i started reading lenin stalin mao and stopped reading post 20th century westoids and became scientific socialist
I was largely apolitical, left-leaning only cause it meant not being a crazy neocon warhawk. I never cared much for it because I grew up right before social media and electronic devices took over everything, I'm talking about 2008-2012, and politics was this kind of thing for "serious" adults, militants and people over 30. Young people I knew had nothing to do with politics, they were just into sports, music, partying, subcultures like rock, punk, metal. It was trendy to be anti-Bush, anti-US intervention, pro-Obama, pro-OWS, but that's it. That's why it's baffling to me to see kids now like "I was an ancap, then a monarchist, then nazbol, then marxist" and you ask their age and they're 19.
nice try data scraping glowie
I was an MLib before becoming Marxist
>>2527727I was thought capitalism was wrong, but couldn’t think of an alternative so I fell into despair (I never read theory). It was after watching many Chomsky videos that I began to feel attraction towards anarchism, and then boom, became an anarchist. It was a change bigger than becoming atheist. It took
me some time to understand that a world without States and borders was possible.
I used to hate religion, but not I hate capitalism more. My view on religion has changed slightly, I have more compassion for it now.
