There can't be another world hegemon if capitalism survives this collapse. There is no theory of "ultra-imperialism", that is, a one world government of peaceful capitalists. At best the capitalist powers will go their own way for a while before duking it out again.

China cannot be the world hegemon no matter how much MLs want it to be. Its surrounded on all sides by semi-hostile forces and doesn't have linguistic links across the planet. India suffers the same problems. Both China and India will be undergoing deep demographic problems by the 30's, and India will have a water problem to boot.

Forecast: World hegemony of the US is undoubtedly done. That doesn't mean the US will become a third world country or WW3 is inevitable. Its just as likely an alliance of nations forms for 80 years, just like with the concert of Europe. But this is all statistics, not certain.

WW3 is not going to happen since what we have going on right now in Ukraine is the most any military-industrial complex on planet earth can manage right now. It's not a matter of "oh but they just don't want to mobilize", they can't. Stable bourgeois rule and austerity of the last 45 years made most economies far less adaptable and far more fragile. The only country that even has the capacity to produce electronics independently is China.
